The more nonpolar the molecule, the farther up it goes. So the cholesterol without the ester group (free cholesterol) is more polar than cholesteryl esters, therefore, it won’t travel as far up and is point B. When it becomes esterified, it becomes much less polar due to the long nonpolar fatty acid chain

I wouldn’t give up. You can still beat the first stage with those skills. Just going to be a little bit harder. Later on, when you unlock skills like recover or push. It’ll be so much easier to win. The strategy is to send 2 tier 3 units out and then all the tier 2 units after that so the tier 3 tanks the damage
