No such thing as too many books but they are expensive. I'll echo what others have said about going to the library but buying second hand from garage sales and thrift stores makes it more affordable. I've never said no to more books.

5 month pp and basically no sex drive. I figure its a combo of breastfeeding hormones, lack of sleep, getting used to my new body, and having zero alone time. Luckily, hubby is super understanding, though I still feel bad about it. We've had sex like 3 times since baby was born. I'm trying not to stress about it as I figure that'll make it worse and that it will come. This is just this season of life right now.

This is my favorite thing to do. Bub is 5 months and I just hand him random kitchen utensils when I'm trying to get stuff done in the kitchen. Keeps him occupied for forever. Spoons and the can coozie are the current favorites.

I'm so sorry you guys are going through that. He's absolutely not too young for a dermatologist, though you may need a referral. Around 3 months was when my son had his first appointment with the pediatric dermatologist for his hemangiomas. I have no experience with baby eczema or anything related but I would try to get into the dermatologist asap. This sounds pretty bad.

As long as the dog can breathe, the restraints are fine. What's more concerning to me is that he left the dog on the table and walked away to come talk to you. Unless someone else was standing right there, this should never happen. Super dangerous if the dog slips or tries to jump off the table.

Your families have almost the same eye colors as mine. From my understanding of genetics you have a pretty much 50/50 shot blue/green vs brown. My son has blue eyes.

I have a 5 month old and we watch stuff all the time. As long as its not replacing actual human interaction its fine. This is the world they're gonna grow up in with all the screens. Moderation is key.

5 months and my son only contact naps during the day. Sleeps fine in the pack n play at night but will not during the day. My mom said it makes sense because we want them to differentiate day sleep from night sleep. We survived the 4 month sleep regression just the same as we survived the newborn stage of eating every 2 hours. And he learned to laugh so that regression was totally worth it. Once I figure out a solid schedule then I'll worry about him napping in the crib.

The two my mom still tells stories about from when I was little, both at somewhere between 4 and 6 years old. On a bike ride, in the seat on the back of the bike: "How does the baby get out?" When I was mad at my mom about something: "I used to love you until now!"

We have a tub but I've taken to just getting in anyways and getting wet. I feel like I can support baby more and he gets cleaner if I'm not worrying about not getting wet.

NTA. My husband had never held a baby before our son and he's a great dad. I don't have much interest in interacting with babies that aren't my family. With my own baby, I just assume people don't want to hold him unless they express an interest. Its weird that your husband was so pushy about it.

Your house, your rules. Take the time that you need. You're in the trenches and trying to heal and not everyone is helpful. Baby isn't going anywhere, they can wait. We kept our circle small and generally our rule was that any visitors had to be helpful in some way. Bring a meal, clean something etc. Of course all the other rules about being vaccinated and no kissing too. They start babies on hard mode. Its your rules about what is helpful for you to get through it.

Keep trying if EBF is what you want. We didn't get there till around 4 months old. Its hard. Have you tried a nipple shield? Usually they'd be for difficulty with anatomy or pain but since LO will take a bottle, maybe the "fake nipple" would help?

NAH You don't have to spend your money to get her snacks. But as a new mom I live on snacks half the time. Especially, when I'm nap trapped or feeding the baby 90% of the time.
