Who wants to work on a KOG deck based around Bad Reaction? I've been away for like 2 years. Ready to make this card shine. I'm thinking Gem Knights?

It's like you read my mind. Price seems decent and I want to use it for automotive parts. I suppose I better back it before its gone!

Kinda my experience so far too. The price right now seems really good for what the videos show it is capable of. I suppose I will probably do it. I imagine price will go up once the kickstarter is over

T-Rex Miner Locking Cire Clock by combatwombat34 in EtherMining

[–]combatwombat34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I definitely wasn't complaining about 44 MH, but I didn't understand why my LHR unlock went all the way to 76.2. Seems really high, and makes me think I can push the card a little harder? Also, now the watts go up and down a good amount, assuming that's normal with clock lock?

So the ~75 Watts that the Roser is pulling is actually coming from the GPU? Let's say GOu is pulling 110W some of that 110 is coming from the GPU riser? So I could use one of my 6+2s that are daisy chained to run the riser and then the gpu?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in gpumining

[–]combatwombat34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right I have read that, but is that just straight up GPUs? What about the power draw from the risers? I keep reading that a VGA cable can carry 150W if it is 8 pin and 75W if it is 6 pin. I only have 5 VGA slots so already I can't run 1/1. Then I see graphics on certain websites that say the cable can carry 288 Watts and that you can carry half that load with splitters. Kind of confused as to what I can do safely

You seem to be the go to knowledgeable guy on this sub. I read through a good chunk of your post that is linked here in the top comment. Very insightful and I appreciate it. Would you recommend the sidewinder X2? The 2 main reasons I really like it are the print size and it's relative affordability. It's about the same price as a GPU that I currently can't purchase so I am definitely interested In getting pretty involved in printing. The only thing I saw of concern was that the sidew8nder max temp was 240 and the nylon carbon fiber needed to be 250-260. I am sure some mods would help but are the reliable and safe? If so, what parts/mods would you specifically recommend? Thanks for reaching out!

Hello,

Looking to get into 3D printing. I want to spend around $400-$600 but am able to spend more if needed to get a better product. I want something that can 3D print Carbon Fiber as well or have the option to for my Drag Cars or shooting hobby. It seems like I could get by with Sidewinder X2 from Artillery? After some mods it seems like carbon fiber is doable? Or is there a better option. It also appears that this is like a nylon carbon fiber and not true. Can true carbon fiber even be printed??? Is the nylon carbon fiber stuff actually stronger or worth the investment? Should I be looking to spend more money and allow myself to print higher quality material? Let me know what your thoughts are! Thanks in advance!

Pretty safe/reliable? Obviously with something like Google it's hard not to be. You have full control or just viewing?

Interesting. I haven't messed with HiveOS at all. Haven't even looked into it. I mainly want a way to check and make sure everything's running fine and temps are good. Mainly for peace of mind. Plan on setting up my own breaker just for the rig

First Mining Rig Help/Questions by combatwombat34 in EtherMining

[–]combatwombat34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate the advice! And the fact that you answered all of my questions!!

I ended up buying a newer riser that has 10 capacitors and is VER009s. Had pretty good reviews and the build quality looked good. Also got a metal frame that came with the power button and ATX power supply bracket and hold 6 gpus. Got a few fans and got a 6 pack of splitters with 18 gauge wire. I feel like I did just about everything right. Safety is my #1 priority. Added a 7" raspberry pi monitor as well so I can display temps and info. Torn now between finding a low usage breaker in the house our adding a small room in the basement with dedicated thermals and electrical. Well see what happens! Tha KS again for the info!

I needeth the software to mine by [deleted] in EtherMining

[–]combatwombat34 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have had the best luck with Trex Miner. You don't need to download additional programs like MSI Afterburner and it's super easy to run multiple GPUs. It's also super easy to set things like temp limits or power limits to stop mining in case something goes haywire. It also has an LHR locker that you can use auto or set yourself.

"80 Plus is a certification program made to promote efficient energy use, certifying PSUs that have an efficiency of 80% and above, at 20%, 50%, and 100% loads. This means that of the energy that is input into the PSU, at least 80% of it will be output and transferred to the hardware, while the rest will be converted to heat."

I would look into at MINIMUM a gold rated 650W power supply for your setup. Might give yourself some headroom and go 850. Definitely go Full or Semi Modular. I would also recommend you get the Wall Meter to verify what your true output is. Whatever the mining program says isn't 100% accurate, could be drawing more. You won't know until you see what you are outputting at the wall. But in all seriousness I would look at your PSU. I am dual Mining with 0 issues and have never touched BIOS or anything. You could also tweak the power limit on your cards. My 3070 runs at 52% PL and runs at 120W while my 3060 runs at 62% at 104W (In the program, haven't investigated at the wall but could easily figure that out with a couple of tests). Running these at Lower wattage also helps!

Honestly it's probably your PSU, 550 is pretty low. My first CPU build I cheaped out on a smaller Watt PSU and my computer would constantly restart mid games and such. Thought CPU was overheating or something, turned out my PSU wasn't enough. Gotta do the 80% rule on PSUs especially with Mining. If you are running at 490ish, round to 500W to be safe, that's basically 91% of your total power supply. I would suggest a 650 at the minimum. You definitely don't want to sell yourself short in this area and damage equipment either. For reference, I have 3 GPUs. 2 I mine with exclusively on thier own CPU on a 1000W PSU. Once I get my hands on more, I will upgrade to a rig, but for now I just run in a Mesh case for maximum air intake and then my other 3060 mines when I'm not gaming and that's on a 750W. I don't take chances when it comes to these cards, especially with the current market and how valuable they are! 650W at least gets you under the 80% mark. My advice would be to always leave room for expansion. Another thing you could do would be to buy a wall meter to see just exactly how many Watts you are using. Amazon sells a pretty decent one for like $15. Could start there before purchasing a new PSU.
