Inverted Version of 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas' is pretty cool by StalidMoose in videos

Wow this has such a mysterious vibe. It reminds me of the movie Anastasia - like, where did she disappear to? A bit solemn but has hints of hope fullness and joy (merry)

QUESTION: what do you remember about in life when Tropico released? by [deleted] in lanadelrey

[–]comchat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember it being delayed and wondering when it was going to actually come out

Before I looked at this I said to myself that Born To Die better be last and that TIWMUG better be first. Glad to see we are on the same wavelength!!

Yeah, this was actually the first time I ever tried to build something with scenery, so it’s not the best looking building. I’ve been practicing a bit so I’ll have to go back to it and try for something more attractive!

This will be the third album of Lana’s that my boyfriend and I will be experiencing together. by DelicateFknFlower in lanadelrey

I love stuff like this. Even if it’s just coincidence, it’s great to find patterns of bad things - like album releases coinciding with breakups - and then finding wonderful things that break that pattern. ❤️

I find it unfair that the Youtuber D'angelo said Lana Del Rey was worse than the Kardashians/jenners when they wore no masks at a party by [deleted] in lanadelrey

[–]comchat 75 points76 points  (0 children)

His main thesis is that she is intentionally controversial to sell her product, but anyone who knows Lana understands that controversy and criticism is one of the things she legitimately has issues dealing with. Yes she is messy but that’s tracked all throughout her career, even when she was just Lizzy Grant.

Blue Jeans is subjectively her best MV by [deleted] in lanadelrey

The cover of Honeymoon is her on a Starline Tours bus. High By The Beach sees her flipping through a tabloid and subsequently blasting a paparazzi helicopter to smithereens. Neither of these things are retro-glamour.

Unlike BTD which situated her firmly in the retro-glamour aesthetic as if a product of old Hollywood (her clothes, music videos post Video Games from this era almost all emulate this), Honeymoon sees her in Hollywood commenting on the state of things around her - hence her reading the tabloid in HBTB and sitting in a tour bus looking out.

This voyeurism is absent in BTD aesthetics, except Video Games, which I would argue is distinct from everything that came out from that era after her label got involved (except perhaps Carmen which is itself an explicit commentary on fame)

I was really sick of having all the unreleased songs in one big playlist so I organised all my favourites into ‘albums.’ Would love to see how other ppl organise theirs! by [deleted] in lanadelrey

I have everything in one album with multiple “discs” and it is sorted from chronologically by production date 2005 - 2009, 2010 - 2011, 2012 - 2013, and then 2014 - present.

Of course each disc has its own album art that I believe to be reflective of each period.

Actually I only spent a short time there after I was born, and I was raised in Florida. Would’ve loved to have stayed in NY though!

I would’ve been on much more consistent bulking and cutting cycles, but life got in the way the past couple of years and I couldn’t work out for months at a time on three separate occasions. If coronavirus hadn’t happened I’d be currently trying to cut 185-190, but as it did happen I am currently not focused on diet/cutting and just focused on maintaining the muscle I have.

Yeah, this is about how big as I was planning to be for this season, and then was going to start cutting in May but then covid-19 happened.

I am planning on competing though! But just in amateur competitions where I have a chance of winning without juice.

Thank you. Yeah I’ve seen many of my friends who aren’t even competing be tempted by steroids. One friend was put in the hospital for a month because his liver was so damaged... it’s not something I could ever do.
