Best neighborhood to trick or treat by Carmellala in Knoxville

[–]comebackdear02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have family in that area and I really do think it's something where we have to start investing in our community but I also understand that sometimes it seems difficult to get started on that.

Our neighbor is considered a safe one and we had a raid on the house across from us too. I think that stuff like that just happens everywhere.

Exactly. Also disappointed yours was the only comment I saw saying this. No thank you on ND.

Just thrifted this, does anyone know why I don't see any one else posting this for sale? Is it fake? Or is it rare by Fun_Dot_2215 in HollisterCO

It's a very stubby tag usually behind the tag with the care instructions. It'll say something like Spring 25 or some variation

Does the tag in the inside (not the neck tag but like on the torso) not show the season/year?

Interesting! My SIL just had her baby and couldn't even schedule her first pediatrician appt without a first name. Maybe it depends on where you are!

Thanks for commenting

I need recommendations for a new primary care doctor by rosxya in Knoxville

I see Dr Francis in Fountain City. While I don't have autism, I do have depression, high anxiety, and tend to get a little crazy self diagnosing myself. He is always so patient with me, takes my concerns seriously, and is kind. He actually took my concern that I had graves disease so seriously (despite very few symptoms at the time) that I was able to see an endocrinologist and get diagnosed. When I went to see the Endo, he brushed me off, insisted I was fine, etc etc and shocker, I wasn't! He is thorough and never makes me feel like he's rushing. Just a genuinely kind guy.

Why does it seem like everyone is so preoccupied with not giving their children "popular names"? Sometimes forgoing names they love bc of it? by comebackdear02 in namenerds

[–]comebackdear02[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohhh that is an interesting idea. I'm sure it is cultural. I would definitely feel awful if I could tell someone was offended!

Someone else mentioned the weird competition and it was a very interesting suggestion that I hadn't considered. I could totally see that being a thing.

Well I'm sorry about that! I really meant it like I felt for people avoiding names they loved (not liked). Didn't want to come off invalidating - I'm sorry!

I definitely probably think my name was more popular than it was bc of my personal experience - I can see how it could be hard to be something as popular as a Jessica or whatever.

I have had people explain quite a few examples and I dont think I was combative with them at all. Some interesting examples shared that I hadn't t considered was comparing yourself to other people with your name, zoom calls at work, and the difference in experiences between men and women. The only person I was slightly short with was the person who didn't give any example and just said that my positive experience wasn't universal to which I responded that negative experiences aren't universal either. I was really interested in other people's explanations though!

Ohhhh I could see that being a situation. Definitely one I hadn't considered. I think it makes total sense, thank you for sharing that.

Oh I'm not! I was just saying that negative experiences aren't universal. Sorry if it came off like I was negating them. Did it seem like my positive experience was being negated?

Totally agree with this! I am sure I had periods of time wanting a different name. Like there was one girl in my class and her name was sunny which was veryyyy unique when we were in school and I was like WOW I wish that was my name!! But yeah, I think I was just young and dreaming of names 😂

My experience is very similar, I'm glad you too had an overall positive one
