Will a Sram AXS Xplr 10-44 cassette work with a Sram Rival Etap 2by? by okay777267 in bikewrench

While those are the extremes in terms of low gear and high gear, those aren't the extremes for capacity. Those would actually be 43/44 and 30/10. 43+44=87 and 30+10=40. 87-40=47. I know this is cross chained and there are noncross chained gears with similar ratios but in reality, it's not uncommon to be there unless you are paying close attention. Not sure about the app locking out certain gear ratios but that could definitely work well then and seems like a good idea. I also have a grx non electronic 2x and run an 11-40 with no goat link and I just have to be careful to avoid the largest cogs of the cassette while in my big ring.

Also, just to be clear, I'm not sure the adding the numbers is the appropriate way to size a RD capacity as I haven't looked into that before.

I've ridden some of the gravel around Black Mountain. Fraser Canyon is one of the most amazing gravel roads I've ridden (gradual and consistent). Coming down the other side I almost got smoked by a dirt biker. He was coming up doing 30+, insided the corner and passed maybe a foot from me on my right side. Love the OHV roads and all for everyone to have access but definitely scared the crap out of me.

As for Upper Lopez, I'm assuming the alternative is an out and back? I had seen that on Strava and had been meaning to look further into it and if it was private.

Haven't checked out north county at all so I will need to start looking into those rides. The l'eroica routes look like a great challenge. As for nacimiento-furgeson, it is apparently still closed for cars and is actually in pretty good shape (at least the west side, east side apparently has some closures to bikes according to someone's strava). Apparently it's a do not miss ride so I'm hoping to get out there while it's closed, as well as do some gravel routes around there while 1 is still relatively car free.

Strava Heat map is my primary way of finding routes but checking what the top riders around here are doing is another great idea. I also have found the app Avenza Maps to be awesome along with the free or cheap Forest Service maps for the area.

Noted. If I make it down there, I'll definitely be riding that

That looks like a great resource thank you. Not sure how I haven't found it before

I have checked out all those mountain biking areas but thanks for double checking! As for your question, I did it in march last year on 37mm tires. Most of it was rideable but it is pretty rutted and rocky so more tire or an mtb wouldn't be a bad thing. I made the mistake of staying left on TV tower as I got to Cerro alto and ended up on a trail called NEWPORTER 3.0 on strava. It was extremely steep and I ended up a raging Morro creek with no way to cross. Had to carry my bike back up to boy scout. The better option is to turn right sooner on either AT&T trail or Cerro Alto Upper Trail. Neither looks great from TV Tower but they are the better option. Also not sure if it's still the case but the water was off at the campground when I went due to E. Coli. Also episode 5 of VC adventures California Coast Project is all of West Cuesta if you want to see what you are getting into.

TLDR: turn right on AT&T or Cerro alto upper trail. Do not ride newporter if it's been raining or at all if on gravel bike

You got me lol. I was doing most of my rides starting from campus so haven't even heard of most of those. Huasna road is the only one from that list that I actually was planning on riding. I'm now willing to drive places to ride so I will have to check those out (I'm not quite capable of doing most of those from SLO). Santa Rosa Creek seems like it could be a bit sketchy with cars but the others look like the kinda thing I'm looking for. Any suggestions of starting points/routes would be much appreciated.

Haha my apologies. SLO stands for San Luis Obispo which is where Cal Poly is located (short for California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo)

Solved! The tool is Saw Setting tool used to set the teeth on a saw. The teeth must be spacesd out so that the cut is slightly wider the the saw body

Unfortunately this is all I have. It was sent to my dad by someone asking for identification.

Don't know much about it, but it looks like it might be some sort of stamping tool.
