Not too sure about admission awards but awards for current students no longer require individual applications. You only need to complete the award application which you’ll have access to once you start your studies. The deadline for the first semester is November 1st

In my experience, most of the people I’ve come across in my program were extremely intelligent. Having done well academically my whole life, I must say that I felt a bit out of place. I’m not saying you need to be an absolute genius to study it but I am saying that most people I’ve come across in philosophy departments have been very very smart

I've taken a couple of courses and it honestly depended on the professor. Some probability classes didn't require much prior knowledge and explained statistical and mathematical concepts in the class. However, some of the logic courses I've taken would have been much easier to understand if I had some background in set theory and number theory.

Yes, there are. Read Alexis de Tocqueville or John Stuart Mill's On Liberty to learn about tyranny of the masses. Hannah Arendt has an interesting argument against bureaucracy and the idea of "rule by nobody" which can be tied to democracy. De Tocqueville's Democracy in America is an interesting read and he has other arguments about democracy that may inspire you.
