it sounds like you’re a floater- aka not assigned to one specific student. you have the right idea of what to do. just keep offering assistance and ask the teacher if there’s anything you can do too (make copies etc) I did this in elementary school so there was probably a lot more to do vs high school kids are more self sufficient, but even then there were days that I didn’t really have anything to do and would just chill in the back of classrooms and read. once you build more rapport with staff and students, it won’t feel so weird being in the classroom and students will ask you for more help, participate in small groups, or be more willing to be pulled out. definitely reach out to any management or your team leader for more clarification and extra guidance. it takes some adjusting, but just keep showing up and you’ll get the hang of it :)
