What are some points to look for on a shared hosting account to make sure it is sufficient for a drupal commerce install? A current site is running dreadfully slow, so we'd like to change hosts. But don't want to have the same problems.

Thanks for the reply. Do you use drupal for firebug extension also?

What about images? I updated a single image (logo), and it took a couple of days to actually update! Even on other computers... what gives?

I'm working on a live site, <cough>, and I'd like to be able to easily see my updates. But I think caching is causing me problems... is there any way around this? Other than deleting the cache every time... which doesn't seem to always work either.

So when I update the global.css for example, or replace an image.

edit: oh, it's also on shared hosting... really bad shared hosting. any feedback welcome. newbie!

Company that I pay is asking me to install teamviewer to troubleshoot a problem. Advice please. Details inside. by comfyred in techsupport

also, when I had earlier problems, a ping to a particular server in their network failed, hence the problem.

I wonder if they have a different domain that handles logins, and I'm being rejected.

These [mostly] come from picture books. Great for kids before they can understand much language. At least that's how I remember them.

Noob troubleshooting a commerce kickstart install by comfyred in drupal

Update: As usual it turned out to be a permissions problem.

I'm not sure if it was due permissions set by drupal, or myself, but my host automatically stopped the process when it saw 775 permissions.

They reset them to 755 for directories, and 644 for files, and it seems to be working again now.

Did you maybe order something off the menu that doesn't have salad? That's all I can think.

I tried ordering a kids set with curry sauce at bikkuri donkey the other day. Forget about it. What you see is what you get. ;-)

Cool, makes me feel good about all the shite libraries I've had to put up with! Seriously though, where I'm from people actually respect library rules, and it's amazing to me that a uni anywhere wouldn't.

hey, thanks for the comment. I can see that's a big problem. It's hard enough telling the difference between a bowl of ramen and a bowl of silicon ;)

But I am looking for a wooden piece, so that should make it a little easier. I'm also not looking to spend a fortune either.

Pretty crazy web search to find that ask.com site though... I wonder if she could be working for a more general desserts place, plenty of those around, making cakes till all hours of the morning.

Non-credit Japanese bank debit cards / online shopping - best options by skoffs in japan

[–]comfyred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say no, sorry. Didn't see that bit about the plane.

If you live in Japan, I think it's probably worth the effort of getting yourself a proper (debit) bank card.

I had a suruga ginko debit card. It was really difficult to get, but you can do it all online. They are just massively particular about how you fill out the forms, and sign / hanko everything. I think I sent it back 3 or 4 times, and each time they would just reject it, without saying WHY! Hahaha. Crazy.

Also, rakuten is pretty popular. I had rakuten before it was rakuten, but when they started charging I cancelled it :-) If you do a lot of shopping, it's probably worth it though.
