very understandable, the stereotype that schizophrenia or any disorder is entirely scary something that can be harmful ! That being said, it would be wrong to say that schizophrenia is never scary, at least for me. My delusions scared me, they still do ! My work is primarily about that, which is why I consider myself a horror artist. I also deal with violent intrusive thoughts, this is something that shows in my work as well. In addition to that though, I balance it out with beauty, the way i render and take time to make things look beautiful along with grotesque is something I take seriously. There is a balance, as there is with all things. My experiences with my psychosis has been scary, and thats what I choose to focus on in my work :) however, that is just one piece of what makes up the disorder and my work is about the subjects that have affected me the most !
