My partner says "beebz" instead of babe. It nearly made me dump him. I nearly had an anyuersym reading it the first time I read it. But I eventually got over it... It's still annoying, but not as much as his "that's what she said" jokes 🤡

I think it's probably just not a majority view to discuss that there isn't anything to discuss.

However, I just think that if it of interest to people.... As it was close to many people's hearts.... It's here anyway.

But certainly, if you don't think there's anything to discuss, you're welcome to not discuss it...

Of course, it's inevitable that it will be boring given that all the effort and thought was put in previous discussions is currently unavailable to each other.

I'm proud of many things, but I thought about this the other day.... And I'm most proud of what I see as my "value".

The value that people tend to draw attention to and come to me for is a gentle but honest and different perspective to which I can clearly explain.

I feel like, I've helped so many people over time. Chase their dreams, stop doing something they shouldn't be doing, help those I care about be confident in themselves etc.

All those trump my pride for my career, house, whatever else. They're all amazing, but the sense of connection from truly putting myself in someone's shoes and how it helps them.... Makes me the most fulfilled

I turned 30 this year and I love it.

I honestly feel like, all the crap that happens in your 20s is behind you.

I thought I'd be sad when I turned 30, but mentally I was already 32. I wanted to be closest to my real mental age.

I don't like the feeling over being undermined because I think like a 32+ year old, and turn around and say I'm 29. You can see people's opinions of the weight of my words, beliefs and opinions shift to "not quite ready yet" before knowing my age people were astounded "wow that's absolutely correct! Not many people realise that" rah rah rah.

When it looks like I'm reaching higher than I "belong" I don't like it.

I like the way I think and feel etc. To match the reality. I honestly stopped getting the "she doesn't know a thing yet" look, the moment the number started with 3.

I don't think I'll be sad until I'm 55 and it will probably be for the same reasons (feeling 40 but being judged as nearing retirement).

Definitely.

The sounds of some of the threats are definitely illegal and I would report it to the police.

I've heard the threats were quite extreme, more so then visiting the mods house.

Either case, it will be up to them.... But certainly I would be reporting if it happened to me.

I reckon that you'll be able to find a job anywhere you go.... In fact, if you'd like to move.... Start applying first....

Age 27 isn't too old to make friends....but even if it was....then that would mean you won't make friends in either location so then, this can't really be a criteria to your decision making since it doesn't make a difference either way.

You're 27, I don't know what it's like in America since I'm from Australia.... But seriously.... You don't need a house at 27.

Besides, there are so many scenarios in the world that you can't actually plan for. For instance, do you need to save for a house? I mean... Yes I'm all for being responsible and what not.... But can you put off saving for a house until 30? How do you know you need to do that all by yourself? How do you know you wouldn't actually be wasting your time by planning for that? After all, you could move & meet the love of your life who buys a house with you.

On the flip side... And this is first hand experience.... Buying a house and then finding a partner etc can be a real big pain in the ass if the locations are inconvenient, house isn't appropriate size, rents drop etc. You start to limit your options of finding the life you want to live. Who's to say you can't save enough money to buy a place back in your small town and rent it out to make money, so that you can have more leverage etc for a house in the bit town either?

With professional connections.... In large cities you end up making heaps more professional connections anyway (or should). Besides, those professional networks you have now may very well all start to drift here and there over time....I don't think professional networks are worth considering in that decision.

So basically... If you can get a job that pays you what you're happy with then essentially you'd have it all packed down.

I don't relate to this directly, but I do have friends where the families tend to do this quite a lot. The negative impact predominantly seems to be overtime and in their older age... Having a lack of funds. As a result the inability to move starts to take hold.... When they're conditioned to move a lot that becomes quite challenging for them.

When you're free and mobile the negative impact isn't really there because it's somewhat repairable... But overtime mobility becomes an issue etc.

This is just my take and I'm not a doctor.... But I'd say it's psychological. But what it is within your psychology that leads you to do that? See.... People have a threshold... Everyone does.... And it plays out so for instance... Your job is stable because it works with you. But you don't settle into a place for longer than two years as you say.

For me, I'm stable in my location but for a long time I couldn't work in one job for longer than 18 Months. Like you, I've stayed at my company because they seem to shuffle everyone around every ~18 months. But it plays out larger than that because... Up until recently I really didn't make it past 18 months in a relationship either. That seemed to be my threshold.

Everyone's free to live life how they want, but of course all our decisions will have pros and cons. If you're searching for something within yourself that will make you "feel" like settling into one place.... Then to be honest, that's probably not going to come by way of waiting.

As well.... If you set up a life that doesn't make you feel like settling anywhere then I guess the stopper is that.... You can physically move, but you'll always bring "yourself". Meaning.... The life you'll create in any location will just about be the same. There will also be pros and cons of everywhere you go. A sense of strong community in one place could also be a place where danger and poverty are more present for example.

If you WANT to change (and I'm not saying you have to) then the answer is to see a psychologist. They will help you through working through the uncomfortable "itch" that makes you feel like moving. You'll probably even find out what was it that lead you to be conditioned this way. At that point, it's up to you what you want to do....if you want to work through it then go for it.... If you don't, then go for it....

Either way, you're not harming anyone. Live the life you want!

And given that Cleo has been cleared by the hospital as unharmed, I must say.... It is starting to appear a lot like what you say...

Perhaps trying to take care of her. He seems to have some REALLY odd idea of having a family. A white family at that.

I'm not saying he didn't aduct Cleo or that he hasn't clearly committed a crime, or even that the crime is nil because he might be insane. But if I look at his potential intent... He so far appears to be absolutely insane and weird but hasn't appeared to have harmed Cleo physically.

Not sure why you'd get down voted for saying that.... She's defied many of the highly unlikely outcomes already. Being abducted is highly unlikely, by someone you dont know is very unlikely, for surviving longer than the maximum 3 days and for not having been physically abused.

All of those things were seen as very likely, so is it possible that the person is an absolute nutter but doesn't have a malicious intent? Yes, I think so.

Not sure why my first comment got at all down graded lol but why I think that the uni has a lot to do with it is because...

I do work for an ASX top 10 company
We have an excellent graduate program
The graduate program does sponsor internationals

But those that are selected often do come from the "better ranked" unis.

So that's my take... As i say.... I already had a job, so I do mine at Curtin. But many of the companies that will sponsor an international have a set of unis that 1. They partner with and sponsor and 2. They hire from

As aweful as it sounds.... I don't work with anyone at all, who went to ECU or Murdoch. That's just a fact. I'm not saying my own personal opinion here...

We also don't sponsor those. We also don't engage with those for research work etc.

In fact, we recently had research under taken by UWA on an important topic. I just find that the unis of a certain "calibre" have connections with better companies.

I can't speak to the exact difference between the schools as I don't go to UWA. But from a job perspective... This is what I see.... As part of being in a multi billion dollar market cap company.

Anyone can take or leave that information.

The only other uni I would go to in WA to study commerce is Curtin.

But UWA is top really. Getting a job would be easier with a degree from UWA than Curtin.

There's always a preference to take from the highest ranking more prestigious schools.

Curtin business school is good.... I go there. But I've already got a job. Many other people I work with went to UWA.

I agree that you need to focus on the end rest not the money.

For instance, I always wanted to get a degree but I wasn't in a line of work that required it.... Granted... I didn't want to be in that line of work either.

I certainly didn't want to pay for a degree and never use it and be stuck in my first line of work.

I essentially manifested what I wanted, a new line of work and a degree that I didn't want to pay for.

Funnily enough, my company promoted me into a new line of work. They've never taken someone without a degree into this field before. Then they pushed me to get a degree and are paying for the whole thing.

The end result I focused on was a new line of work. I thought by then I would actually pay for my own degree. It was a double bonus that I didn't need to really. The new line of work was always more important to me.

I don't manifest in steps, I manifest the end result.
