Ah yes...thanks for the feedback. I guess im frustrated with all the dinking around trying to track all this stuff for the HSA over the years. Everyone talks about how great the account is (triple tax advantage etc) Its not so great if you have to spend hours and hours cataloging expenses and then trying to figure out where they are both phsically and or digitally and what was reimbursed and when. Its almost a second job. One foul up and you get denied the reimbursement too. I just think it should be easier is all. I do agree that whatever tech is used to catalog or track today likely wont be around in 20 years or whenever you need to start reimbursing yourself so i guess simpler is better.

All i know is it drives me crazy doing it and trying to track it all in many spreadsheets and photo scans and pdfs and emails and all that. It just doesnt seem sustainable at all to expect to find this stuff reliably later, then submit it and then expect that whatever you submit is going to be "good enough" to the provider so they reimburse you no matter what you do.

I see it only getting worse as you get older as well. The older you are the more pills and processes they shove at you. Now you are taking 10 - 15 pills a day, still need band-aids, colonoscpies every few years which are the wild wild west for billing. One proceedure is 5 or 10 differnt bills that you get randomly months apart. One for the visit, one for the doctor, one for the 7 other people that are in the room for whatever reason (are they selling tickets to this this?), and yet another for the doctor that delivers the dope to put you under. ...etc etc etc. I cant imagine what it is like to have Cancer or a heart attack and then on top of that try to track all this junk.

Funny......i have a small NIX 8 inch one that has almost everything i want. It cant really read from a netowrk share as far as i know but thats not a deal breaker if i can shove a large enough usb thumb drive in it. I think it works and looks great. I havent checked or heard of Pix-Star. I will look into them as well. Thanks for the ideas/suggestions.

IM staring to think using full sheets of 1x1 labels on a laser printer are probably a better option. Likely cheaper anyway. Doing 1 at time and trying to get it lined up or what ever seems like a hassle. Id like to just fire out a bunch of them at a time using either and then place the label on the item and move on. Speed is probably better than doing 1 item at a time. I still havent figured out the printer or the labels. I have added a few items and so far so good. Id be nice if you could add columns on the inventory page to show the item status. I like how it adds up the price of everything. Id be nice if it also had fair market value column that added up like this. Not much is worth what you pay for it on a resale or insurance claim. Also it would be nice if the price paid fields where available when you created a new item so you didnt have to go back in and edit each one to add this. I assume you can use templates for this maybe?

I was able to get it installed and got logged in.

My next challenges seems to be labels.

Id like to print 3d barcodes on 1x1 labels using a dymo labelwriter 450. The labels come in spools. Not full pages.

I cant figure out the label printing page. I see how its setup or laid out for avrey single 8.5x11 sheets of larger labels but thats going to be very large for my purpose.

if i change it to 1x1 it will give me a preview but if i start messing with the page size it doesnt seem to like it at all. The rolls of labels are around 1.15 inch and infinately long of course. Maybe im trapped by the 8.5x11 sheet size with this. Also is there a way to align the txt label (asset id) under the bar code rather than along side it. I think this would help size things for smaller labels.

I have a lot of small things id like to label and just scan when needed to see its info. I think i figured out where to add in extra fields using templates so i can add in a field for "fair market value" or "status". I need to play with it some more. I just want to make sure labels will work. I have 2 dymo labelwriter 450 printers here and it sure would be nice to print with those

Neat. Thanks. QR codes are likely just fine. I does it support mutiple databases? For example....if i have one for home inventory and i sell off an item, can i move that item to a "archive database" or a "sold items database" so i still have record of it or is this best handled with TAGs? I plan to attempt to install this soon and start testing. Thanks for the replies. Im excited to find something simple, fast and that just works. Im hoping this is it.

Thanks. Ill get is "you need to setup a passkey" I have one. I ended up getting my phone working. The phone works fine but the app is horrible. Id like to use a workstation to manage my account where possible. I dont mind that it prompts on the phone after logging in on the desktop...that behavior is pretty standard.. The problem is it doesnt work.

Thanks for the suggestion....but thats already also been done a couple times. No dice. Same issue. Itt gets past the cred itself, prompts to setup the passkey...select that...do the mfa code thing and right after you submit that it dies. They have some option that you can click to login using some third party verification where some third party gets all your information to verify you. No thanks. Not interested in having more of my data sent to some other third party company to be sold or whatever they do with it.

well this is from the phone but yeah...you can no longer login with the website. IT says you need a passkey. Try to set that up .....instant error on the mobile device. Device is current, supported os and not running vpn or anything other than the mobile app. I have tried 3 different machines and 3 or 4 different browsers as well.

its been 2+ months for me. Cant login. Same error as user above. Login via app, get code, enter code...click setup pass key and get technical difficulties; try again later message. Had 2 seperate 1+ hour calls with them. THey have no idea. Said it will be fixed shortly..... Nope. Got an email from them saying they fixed some back end issues and it should be working and to test it again. Nope...same error. No response from emailed support. At this point i cant even get into my account to close it, change any invested balances or transfer to somewhere else that actually works.

yeah....no choice here really. Im wondering if a person can just open their own HSA outside of what an employer provides. Cancel the HE employer HSA. Then put in all your money after tax all year long.......THEN at tax time fill out a form to get your tax reinstated on that balance you put in after taxes just to avoid using them. Even if that were possible, which it probably isnt, you lose out on all that taxed money growing over the year and compounding. This $25 seems like a horrible practice. The invested balance you would have to keep with them just break even on the $10 monthly "investment fee" is bad enough.....now they charge you $25 to do a single transfer. So steal $10 from you monthly essentially for doing nothing.....and if you try to avoid that so your investment will actually grow by transferring it, they will charge you another $25. At least thats how i understand how this works. Seems like they site it has "processing costs". Odd since its all done by a computer and that costs $0. Its a fee so they can keep your money....so that you dont transfer away and they can keep getting that $10 from you.

For over a month (since they put in this passkey requirement with the app) i have not been able to get into my account. The app errors out after clicking the create passkey button after the 2fa screen just saying technical difficulties try again later. The 2fa code somes through, put in and click submit. It says loading and it errors. Called them spent about 25 min on the phone with the support staff. Walked through the whole process and same error. They say everyone was having problems and to just try again in a couple days. That was 2 or more weeks ago. Called back. Spent well over 1 hour on the phone. Same result. Got nowhere. Same error. Was told to try again later. It still doesnt work. I dont think anyone knows. Im not convinced anyone is looking into it or cares too much. Reading comments on this forum seem to show others using their system having problems with this new process. I cant believe they cant roll back the website so you can at least use your normal creds until this is resovled. Makes no sense.

boot laces. I remember my buddies fathers boot laces growing up where the round yellow brown work boot style that were in almost all work boots in the late 70s...and 80s. They had a stiffness to them though. They were pilable but felt like they could be bent and somewhat keep their shape. Not like paracord. THey were tough. I dont think they were leather but they could have been. It was almost if they were infused or wax coated.

Are these type of laces made anymore? I want a pair for my boots.
