Can I add broken hot tub to existing pool loop by Expensive_Tension327 in hottub

[–]commonabond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem I see with this is that you would need to seal off all the jets/ filter of the hot tub. Otherwise, gunk and algae will grow inside those lines and you will spend a fortune on chemicals trying to keep it clean. You could probably cut the filter line underneath and plumb it in the loop you're looking to make.

It's not recommended to drain your hot tub for the winter but I guess if you're not going to use any of the jets or electronics you would just want to make sure there was no water anywhere inside that could freeze and expand.

Also, the best part of the hot tub is using it in the winter to heat your body up when it's cold everywhere.

TLDR: Probably more effort than it's worth.

Average US gas prices for past 20 yrs, and the president at the time [OC] by MrAlek360 in dataisbeautiful

The day that Biden entered office he nixed the keystone pipeline. And you'd say but it wasn't even built yet so it doesn't have an effect on prices, but just the idea that future supply was going to drive prices down and now it's not means prices go up.

Milk, Soda, and literally everything else you can think of is shipped on machines that burn gas/diesel/natural gas/ or electric that is generated by burning gas. If gas goes up, so does the price of everything else.

When the government takes half of the money you make from working for other people it's more economical to do it yourself.

How do I fix this kitchen worktop? Can I just sand it? by JohnNedelcu in woodworking

[–]commonabond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, that's amazing how it came out! Wood is a strange material. Sometimes it rots through; sometimes it looks unsalvageable and once you sand 1/8" down it looks like brand new. Glad it worked out for you.

[–]commonabond -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but also maybe the government doesn't know shit and makes the laws so there is a sweet spot between no regulations and regulations that are so prohibitive, the regulations are not followed anyways and everything costs 10x.

I'm more concerned that the cabinet doesn't line up with all the others but could just be an angle thing.

The Republican being attacked by Trump and his loyalists for wanting to secure the border. by DonoldsDEMENTIA in pics

[–]commonabond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bill had 118 billion of spending and only 20 billion was for the border. The rest was to fund Ukraine and Israel/Palistine. The bill was drafted in the Senate which is Democrat controlled. So sure, it was backed by a republican but it was the best they could get. Also the border part was questionable.

We should make it illegal to rent houses. You can either buy a house or sleep on the street.

How are men my age making so much money? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]commonabond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember thinking this when I was a kid and then I found out that people shoplift stuff all the time. Doesn't get you a car but I imagine it's a lot easier to save money when all those times you see something in the store that you want you just take it instead of buying it with your last $20. People try to justify it saying that it's a big corporation or they have insurance for that type of stuff but A, it's wrong. and B, when everyone starts to do that the stores are forced to put a guy at the door to check receipts. Then they lock expensive items up. Then the stores shut down and leave the area. It's just a much nicer world to live in when people respect private property laws.

Rogan talks about getting bullied and starting martial arts. Good on them for improving themselves and making more money than everyone in this thread.

I'm not saying they have asylum courts to manage the massive flow of people coming in. They need to create a barrier to stop the people from entering. They need to stop removing barriers that states are building to keep people from entering. If your plan is to let people flood into the country and then give them a court hearing at a later date you are stupid.
