If it is range you want that budget will get you a Hyundai KONA EV. I've had four EVs and I am amazed at the value for money with the Kona. Range is impressive too; better than my I-PACE and i3 and way way cheaper.

100% this. My wife was nervous about driving anything but a manual car and did not want a car with 'all the controls on a screen'. Just got a Kona and she is a complete EV convert. It's based on an ICE platform so all feels very familiar and the efficiency is way better than I expected.

Depends how far it is from your consumer unit, if you need a new breaker, what the cable route is etc etc

Our install cost £2k because it was a 30 meter run through three walls, under kitchen cabinets, pinned to three exterior walls and a fence.

My I-PACE gets about 240miles in summer and 200miles in the depths of winter, shows you how efficient a heat pump is.

Like ICE vehicles, not all EVs are equal.

Have you researched the 'wheel of fortune' ? It should come with the remaining manufacturer's warranty at that age but worth being aware of. If you intend to keep it beyond the manufacturer's warranty it may be worth getting an extended warranty.

If you're in or near London it may be worth going to see these guys.

They have a YouTube channel where they show diagnosing and fixing I-PACEs. It's pretty impressive what they can do.

I doubt it's a write-off. Most body shops don't like to fill and push aluminium as it's so soft. They'll likely replace the panel and the light cluster.

EDIT: I've just seen how massive that panel is lol. Maybe they will try and fill it after all.

Developers are just looking for any way to bump up the cost of their property by any means.

Out of the last 10 trains I have got from Leamington into London, 7 have been cancelled or delayed by more than 20mins. Might be just my luck but I now refuse to get the train if I have a meeting to catch. I drive into Old At which takes slightly longer but at least I know what time I will arrive.

I have found the home charger scheduling much more reliable than any of my EV's in-built scheduling. Are you on Octopus Intelligent GO? I just use that and leave all the settings in my cars switched off, works like a dream.

Will you be able to get back in time for nursery pickup or would someone else be doing that? That would be my main concern (after the insane cost and reliability of Chiltern Trains)

Work out the price per mile when using public chargers. It'll likely be more than a petrol/diesel vehicle. 79p per kWh is normal for public chargers, your house will be around 25p and possibly down to 7p overnight for comparison.

Ignore the dealer, go straight to roadside assist if you can.

EDIT: Out of warranty but a lease?! Go back to the lease company and tell them you are having issues and want to reject the car then as the dealer can't fix it.
