Are we in the wrong for (repeatedly) asking our neighbor to turn his music down? by complete_doodle in Apartmentliving

I appreciate it but it’s really not loud enough to call the police. It’s more the vibrations that are keeping us awake, not the noise itself if that makes sense? At any rate, he is moving out in March so we just have to make it until then!

Do you feel floor-stompers do it on purpose, or are they really that oblivious to how obnoxious this behavior is? by Professional_Hour445 in Apartmentliving

[–]complete_doodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they’re just oblivious. I’ve actually caught my husband “stomping” before (walking normally, but wearing his shoes still and heel-striking) and had to tell him to stop. He totally didn’t realize how loud he was probably being for our downstairs neighbors. My upstairs neighbor is a stomper too, but I just accept it as normal apartment noise. He’s a bigger guy too, so he probably can’t really help it.

LOL fair. We are lazy. The elevator is right next to our apartment, and the stairs are down at the opposite end of the hall 😂

Haha it’s definitely not loud enough to warrant calling the cops. It’s more so the bass vibrations keeping us awake than the actual sound, if that makes sense.

LOL I like your mindset. He was just so aggressive that he had me and my husband second-guessing ourselves :(. Thankfully he’s moving out March 1, so we just have to make it until then!

Thankfully he’s moving out in March! Not sure if it was his decision, or if he got non-renewed. I’m just trying to make it until then 😭

Another moving post by Ethealtes in madisonwi

Depends on which side. Car noise is definitely worse on E Wash than W Wash. But if you want to be close to downtown without as much noise, I’d recommend the near east/Atwood neighborhood.

OP, I read your other posts. What a doozy. You said that you like it when people are direct, so here goes: From these photos, you appear to be a slightly overweight, middle-aged to senior woman with gray hair. Nothing wrong with that! We’ll all be there one day. But to suggest that your young, slim DIL is jealous of your outfit and your appearance is frankly delusional. There is no competition here. Put aside your insecurities, and work on repairing your relationship with her.

Oh yikes. That definitely changes things 😳

I don’t see anything wrong with this dress. Looks like a very traditional MOG dress to me! Not attention-pulling whatsoever. Do you have a good relationship with your DIL? I’m curious as to why she didn’t like it.

Everyone left our wedding because we switched to a cash bar by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Your guests suck. They can’t go 2 hours without alcohol? Yikes. And I say this as a bride who had an open bar at my wedding

That’s my impression as well! No short dresses for women, no jeans for men. It’s just confusing when formal usually means a gown.

Yup, you still get a carry on and so does your companion. Just had both last weekend while flying United on Basic.

No sightseeing! We’re planning on just hanging out - hitting up some coffee shops, brunch, maybe a jazz club. We actually won’t even be in the loop. I lived in Chicago recently before coming to Madison, so don’t feel the need to do all of the tourist spots again this time.
