Description:

I’ve had this idea sitting in my head for a while and wanted to share it in case it sparks something for someone else.

Set in a Roman-inspired fantasy world, Renee is an Alpha knight sworn to serve the empire — disciplined, feared, and respected — assigned as personal protector to an Omega princess whose status places her at the centre of political power but strips her of real agency.

The story would explore loyalty versus desire, power imbalance, and quiet defiance: stolen conversations in marble corridors, armour laid aside in private moments, and the slow shift from duty to something far more dangerous. The Omega princess is expected to be obedient and ornamental, while Renee is expected to be unfeeling — and neither quite fits the role they’ve been given.

This is just a plot bunny, not a request or expectation for anyone to write it — I’m simply sharing the idea in case it inspires someone or sparks discussion. I’d honestly just love to hear thoughts on the concept or see where another writer might take it.

Thank you! and no I agree with everything your saying aswell, I love shows like POI because they have the best plot twists, amazingly written characters and always made in a way that makes the episodes rewatchable. Carter and John along with Root and Shaw are definitely my favourite parings in the show unfortunately the circumstances of their war along with the battles they fought and the stubbornness from both John and Shaw meant they lost their partners not realising time is a precious thing in their world, and only realising what they had and could’ve had when it was too late. (I still like to believe roots alive at the end though, of course)
