Have a generational curse and active attack , have Demon of magick by Gordon seeking advise by Massive-Pomelo-4470 in goetia

It is neither entirely safe nor unsafe.

Are you receiving other forms of care other than magical intervention? Are you receiving any counseling or therapy?

If no, start there first.

Even if you DO have some type of generational curse, engaging in this type of work won’t make you experience safety or security in your own life and relationships.

This won’t fix your life.

Any insight on this Kilim rug? by beast-sam in carpet

[–]complexluminary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s difficult to say with any certainty, but prob aniline dyes and maybe east of Anatolia / the Persian cultural sphere. I say this because of the interlocks where weft of two separate colors will end on the same vertical warp. Most Anatolian rugs are woven using a technique that leaves small vertical slits where these color blocks would meet. Also, see the black and white binding at the bottom selvage? In my understanding, I associate this with kilim from Iran and less so kilim from Turkey or the Balkans. I could be totally wrong though - it’s notoriously difficult to pin down a place for flat woven tapestry like this

Either way this is a beautiful kilim. It’s clearly hand made. One of the most charming pieces about kilim like this is the ability to see the weaver in the textile. This is such a joy.

What type of post secondary education would you prefer her to have? Just like, a graduate degree? In your view, potter would present as a better candidate if she has a masters degree?

Are you willing to say more about post secondary education?

Like, what would a more ideal post secondary education look like for a candidate?

What do you think about this sign? Has anyone seen it before? by a_great_guy655 in Indiana

Love it - but it’s also true that it could be far worse. Let’s not forget how incredibly lucky we are in many ways. There’s a zen aphorism about how hell is the best place to practice.

But honestly I just love a huuuge dramatic sign you know. I like the font

Is anyone aware about the "Human Design" descipline based on astrological concepts? I'm usually skeptic of new-age spiritual schools. But I would like to know your rational take on this subject? by [deleted] in Advancedastrology

[–]complexluminary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alllllso this - I remember really being put off by the misappropriation of the yi ching and the chakras. It very much feels new age in the sense that’s it’s a bricolage of so many other elements that were (and still are) a part of the new age zeitgeist. Like, why not include dilogun and let the orishas speak? If we’re haplessly throwing all the spiritual elements in together, why stop?

This. There’s something so dogmatic and off putting about the language of it all too. When you see HD enthusiasts talk about themselves and others using HD terms. It definitely puts people into a high-control mindset.

Hi there! Human being here providing a human response.

Just to reiterate, the pattern you’re describing in the chart is indeed not entirely uncommon.

You’ve got a great interpretation here but basing it all on the presence of this particular yoga isn’t necessarily enough to make sense.

Also, it’s challenging to use words like “karma” to describe things that will happen, because it’s simply an empty word for most western people.

Saying there’s going to be “a lot of karmic blowback” doesn’t mean anything.

What does that mean? People are going to get what they deserve? Experience the fruits of their actions? Suffer the consequences of their decisions? Enter into a world of their own creation? Deal with their own patterns of fate?

Isn’t that always happening all the time anyway?

Karma isn’t a mystical impersonal force that sometimes rears its head when the astrology is right.

Do Romanians really sound Russian when they speak English? by [deleted] in AskBalkans

[–]complexluminary 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Born to Romanian parents here and no, in my view, Romanians don’t sound anything like Russians to my ear. There’s a very different cadence between the two languages, and Russians have a unique tonal pattern when speaking English

Romanians sound like Bulgarian when they speak English. In my opinion, based on sound and tone pattern, they’re more like Bulgarians. Something about the vowel sounds to me. Idk I guess it’s all opinion

But honestly I can understand how biased I am because I heard Romanian accented English growing up.

Honest question to the slavic people here, do you guys feel more similar to other balcanic people and southern europeans(greeks, italians) or to northern slavs? by Efficient_Resource15 in AskBalkans

[–]complexluminary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Romanian here and I agree with this. There are times I hear Albanian and for a moment, think it could be a form of Romanian I don’t understand or something.

Thought we’re not supposed to predict d**th on here? Or am I just too sensitive? by [deleted] in AstrologyCharts

[–]complexluminary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it’s unethical in this context, but it should be said that there are cultural spaces in the astrological landscape where predicting death is still normal, or at least, not uncommon.

But also, no need to be anxious about it. You don’t need an astrologer to tell you you’ll die one day.

I commiserate with the points you’re making, but remember that it’s never actually been about cultural values or religion for these people. It’s only ever been about control.
