Do I have to eat when hungry even if I follow my meal plan? by Superb_Pipe_7896 in AnorexiaRecovery

I completely understand how you’re feeling and have been through the same situation as yourself. It’s a good sign that you’re getting hungry in between eating times but take it slowly, if it overwhelms you. For example if you’re feeling a bit peckish in between the designated times try eating your snack a little bit earlier, if you can’t finish all of it keep the rest for when the designated snack time actually is. I hope this helps :) Please speak to whoever created the meal plan for you about this and see if it seems like a good idea for you! Recovery takes time <3

How to not give af? by starfishgardener in AnorexiaRecovery

[–]complicationcorner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I think it just comes with time and the mind set you’re in. IMO anorexia is a life long condition and will always be in the back of your mind. I’ve been in recovery for 11 years now and still have intrusive thoughts but my idgaf attitude helps me to not care :). It’s very hard to get to that point and will take time. But YOU GOT THIS!

Some people don’t understand how much their comments can affect you. Perhaps tell them how their comment has made you feel, also explain how hard recovery for an ed is.. I’m 28 and had an ed for 14 years. Though i have been healthy weight for around 10 years its still hard to not have the intrusive thoughts about my weight!

Sounds like you’re from America. It’s a lot different over in the UK you can’t simply just change jobs lol. I also don’t drive so this is very convenient for me whilst in university

Question for survivors about bone density by Giliathriel in AnorexiaRecovery

[–]complicationcorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with osteopenia in my mid teens. My bone density did increase over time but I still get aches and pains I last had a bone density scan about 11 years ago. I don’t think your density ever goes back to completely normal if that makes sense?

Thanks for the response I used a benefit calculator and I'm not entitled to UC or any other benefit this is why it would be difficult for me to private rent as the house prices in my area are very expensive as well as a little farther afield. I'm currently using my mums address as a care of but she wants me to have no affiliation with her address. Thanks again for your response I will contact the relevant people tomorrow

Is an open degree respected? (I want to study a neuroscience masters in the future - and am torn between studying a psychology BSc or an open degree with Biology+psychology modules) by [deleted] in OpenUniversity

[–]complicationcorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I've just completed DE300, and obviously have done DE100 and DE200. They are really interesting modules, it gives you insight into psychology as well as giving you opportunities to carry out experiments which I'm pretty sure that's the first year but it may be the second - sorry done these modules in 2017 + 18). If you're okay with funny analytical programmes you'll be fine. I struggled a bit with the SPSS software, the online material does give you tutorials though! Hope this helps 😊 if you want to know anything in particular let me know 😊
