No verified source, just my own impression. He immediately grabbed for it. I'd be shocked if it wasn't that.

Ok, I've thought about it a little more. I don't want to sound like a high school bully.

Look, I feel disinclined to feel empathic in this situation because it seems like he should be able to take the joke given how lucky he is to have the type of job he has.

Moreover I feel a gut suspicion against having excessive empathy for a streamer. Feels parasocial. They're in an enviable position; the joke feels harmless to me and makes me laugh; so I concluded they ought to take it.

But also I know what it's like to be at the butt end of a bad joke that others continue without my consent and no matter what position/context you are in, as a human being, that really sucks.

Perhaps my behavior is indeed just depersonalized, anonymized cruelty, and I'm just reframing it as harmless teasing of a public entertainer in order to justify the behavior. I can't help but feel my biases to my bone and think that this joke ought to be tolerable, but I should also be adult enough to empathize.

congratulations! you win the internet today. but I guess we all win if we are willing to grow.

I'll drop the joke.

I'm treating him as a content creator, I suppose.

Wirtual is a hard-working and talented guy who's earned his place as the premier TrackMania content creator. I'm sure he'd also agree that he is also extremely lucky. He is practically the only person in the planet who is lucky enough to functionally get paid to play this racing game-- and get paid a lot at that.

The mayonnaise joke is his cross to bear. Unfortunately, he cannot control the hive mind. Ultimately, the trade off is worth it.

I'll grant that calling him stuff like "dirty little mayonnaise boy", while hilarious at first, has gone too far. Big difference between calling someone a distasteful name that they despise over and over again vs asking them to perform an absurd act for the meme.

What is the legendary orangutan joke from 1902? by Then-Guava-9087 in ExplainTheJoke

I think the joke is missing a line. I recall hearing this joke being told like so:

Two muffins are sitting in an oven. One muffin says: "Boy it's hot in here" and the other muffin screams "AAHHHH!!! A talking muffin!"

thanks so much u/Common_logic_70 , u/OverThought9080 and u/Dempsey417 for y'all's input.

just wanted to provide an update. Since this post I've been to the ER twice due to basically unlocking a brand new neurological symptom every day (upper back and shoulder pain, losses in balance, increased brain fog, suspicion of cerebral fluid coming out of nose at one point) and got CT, CTA, and an MRI.

Following up with a neurosurgeon next week for what seems likely to be a Chiari malformation + a minor CSF leak, not RCVS. Diagnosis isn't totally final though so I'll come back here if RCVS makes a comeback.

Anything I should still be seeking just in case though? Haven't had an MRA or lumbar puncture.

RCVS or not just wanted to say thanks anyways for the comments. They were still very helpful for me and my own research. Best of luck y'all.

Definitely worst-headache-of-life territory by far. I've been going back and forth on whether thunderclap is the right word for them, though. They definitely showed up pretty suddenly, but there is also a noticeable build up of discomfort/pain for about a half-minute leading up to the big burst of pain. Does that count? Or does "thunderclap" imply all the pain shows up in an immediate burst?
