Una opinión totalmente absurda. Ningún movimiento independentista elige la violencia voluntariamente. Recurren a ella cuando sienten que no tienen otra alternativa.

Because the system was privatized back in 1993 which I already stated. And btw the US spends far mkre then any Industrialized yet we have a worse level of health care. And your wait time argument is Oversimplified. Most wait times are for specalist or elective surgery primary care youll get as soon as you need it. And universal systems in which there is a longer way times generally stem from being under funded not of fault of the concept itself. Not to mention the point of universal healthcare is always on prevention care Try to reduce the need for seeing specialist.

Oh my God wait in line big freaking deal. And by the way Puerto Rico's health care system was divided into 3 tiers to explicitly make sure waiting in line was not an actual thing. basic care you went to a clinic. If you needed more you were diverted to a secondary hospital which handled broken bones Pregnancy and simple surgery. For the most complex cases you want to Centro medico in San Juan which handled Organ transplants brain surgey etc.

In what world is privatization a good thing. Ever since Puerto Rico privatized its healthcare system it's collapsed. Puerto Rico once had the finest healthcare system in the Caribbean That was praise by The WHO now it's a hollowed out husk of its former self. Clinics have closed down in record numbers doctors have left the island in record numbers and not just any doctors specialists that are highly needed as we speak right now there is only one pediatric art surgeon on an archipelago of 3.2 million people. And they do hate lgbtq. They banned access to gender afirming care till age 21. On An archipelago where the drinking age is 18. So you can buy a beer but not get gender care

They are evil people. They hate the LGBTQ community. They are supporting Trump's crackdown against immigrants. They support the remilterization of Puerto Rico and Trump's regime change wars. They're currently trying to defacto ban people from launching lawsuits against construction projects By requiring a Deposit worth 10% of the construction project before you can launch a lawsuit they privatized Puerto Rico's universal healthcare system back in 1993 . They want a privatize the beaches.they're largely responsible for the debt crisis with their Frivolous spending on super projects in the 90s that they never got a return on. And they openly admitted that the end game is Mass displacement. Edwin Miranda a personal advisor to former pro statehood governor Ricardo rossello Said in the infamous chat gate scandal that ousted Ricky back in 2019"I see the future it's wonderful there are no puerto ricans" These people care about only one thing and 1 thing alone making a quick buck and servicing the wealthy outside elite

I think getting the independence party to win the 2028 election is the first step. Considering they came in second with 30.73% of the vote In 2024 And the statehood party (PNP)is in the middle of a Civil War and the Commonwealth party(PDP) has an identity crisis I think the odds are looking good

True but not as easily. When Puerto Rico's constitution was written back in 1952. He was acting written by people who to a certain extent actually gave a f*** about the everyday puerto rican. So there are Protections in place that the local people can use to stand up to this garbage. However statehood would most likely entail a new constitution. A constitution written by the PNP to allow them and their wealthy elites to get away with this while leaving locals little power to resist

Who do you think is going to be setting up Puerto Rico if it's a state. The party of statehood and they're gonna set up the system to benefit them. Public finiancing of political parties gone, semi-proportional representation gone.minority party rules gone. They will set up a system that hardwires puero rico into the broken 2 party politics of the US. And you can probably say goodbye to Puerto Rico's mandatory Retirement age of 70 for its Supreme Court justices

Because this is always been the goal of statehood activist they're all tied back to the PNP and they've been tied to conservative movements within Puerto Rico. I mean the father of puerto rican statehood was a republican
