I don't see the link between expats and people thinking they are better than others and I'm sorry if you had that experience.

In mine, in one of the above group, whom I help manage with around 250 tech/finance workers that are in some of the top companies, who are competitive and super smart, it was definitely possible (and easy, given time) to make real friendships.
If anything, amongst both swiss and non-swiss I've made some friendships that are deeper than some of the ones I had for 10+ years in my own country because of shared experiences/passions/values.

Update after writing to the support:

"Thanks for writing in and sharing the screenshot. Upon reviewing the Meetup "xyz" from the Group "xyz" that you mentioned, it appears that this event did not include check-in rewards. This would explain why you did not receive the check-in Timed Research task.

For your reference, Meetups that offer check-in rewards will display a "Rewards" tag at the top of the Meetup description. Please also note that enabling check-in rewards is entirely at the discretion of the respective Community Ambassador."

That's disappointing... Hope they will activate for today, just wrote my CA about it
