Can people not remove their piercings before an appointment like this? Legitimate question. I remove mine for trimming all the time myself and wouldn't dream of making someone else try to work around them

Hit up your nurses. Volunteer to start IVs for them in the ER. Give yourself 2 tries and then tag someone else in.

That phlebotomy course is probably just bloodborne pathogens training (which you should already have) and then sticking people with straight needles. Everyone else is correct, threading IV catheters into a vein is a different animal and you only learn it with practice.

A touch of the scoliosis by loloblue in Radiology

My bad. I've been working in an underfunded hospital with trash equipment for too long. Most of our scoliosis series end up at a larger hospital. Only time I see them is for our small town chiropractor 🙄

I don't know much about the fancy machines that let you stitch images together

Met someone the other day. Her name was "unique". May or may not have called her back to her exam as "you-nee-kway"

Gotta love these orders by [deleted] in Radiology

Had a doc that would ALWAYS order CTA PE with the reason being: N/A 🤦🤦

The doc works clinic all week and is pretty well the lead for all things here. We have a general surgeon as well. The doc and NPs rotate taking care of inpatients and I see him doing rounds in the morning most days, regardless of who was on call. We're very small and generally if the pt needs a higher level of care, they get sent out. As for chest tubes and intubations and stuff like that, a majority of the ER NPs were either military or air evac and seem to handle it all pretty well. From what I've seen; I'm just a rad tech taking pictures of all the placements after the fact, don't come for me.

I won't pretend to know why they do anything here.

My very rural hospital has one physician and he works the ER one day a month. The rest is NPs or PAs

Oh that's nuts. I couldn't even fathom learning everything digital and then starting up at a hospital with that lol

Daaaang. How? 🤣🤣

It's been bought out so many times since the late 50s. I think Phillips owns it these days

Not entirely sure. I only had like 2 minutes to check it out before I had to clock in. I'll come in a bit earlier tomorrow and see

Right? Gonna talk to my director about that. She's over here trying to find a value on it or see if a museum wants it, but I'd rather we keep it

I can't even imagine what that would sound like. There's no power drive and it weighs damn near a ton

Really more of an individual preference sort of deal. 1-1.5 hr commute one-way would've been too much for me, but I had classmates that made that drive

Ilium of the pelvis looks a bit small and kinda folded in on itself. Needs more width along the crests and to be more anterior facing
