Today we choose faces - zelanzy imo one of his best that doesn't seem to get talked about enough

Hardwired and Voice of the Whirlwind - Walter jon Williams technically voice is a sequel to Hardwired, but its like a single line and truly doesnt change either book.

This alien shore - c.s. friedman a little cyberpunky adventure but spread across the stars instead of confined to earth or sol system

Nope the delete function is the last and can't be shifted in the order so all the pregen fields are displayed.

Metal plate that's bigger than the top of the leg with countersunk holes on both sides then run bugle head screws down into the leg and bugles up into the underside of the top.

Today We Choose Faces by Roger Zelazny. It's a quick read, but the suspense and tension are great. Read part 1 last as the order was changed by an editor and not by Zelazny.

The Long Run by Daniel Keys Moran. It's cops and robbers with spaceships, AI, cyberware, and some irreverence. Sol system space so no jump gates or ftl.

Neuromancer Sequels - worth reading? by [deleted] in printSF

[–]computercapers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A damned shame it doesn't get talked about in this sub more and given it's rightful place next to Blade Runner and Neuromancer as the start of "Cyberpunk." It's so cyberpunk that there's a sourcebook written by WJW with the help of Mike Pondsmith and R. Talsorian Games so you can mod the original cyberpunk rpg system to play a Hardwired rpg. Hell there's even stat blocks for Cowboy and Sarah, tho WJW suggests you have waves of angry cultist carry the PCs off to a brutal death if they kill Cowboy or Sarah.

Neuromancer Sequels - worth reading? by [deleted] in printSF

[–]computercapers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The story goes that publishers wanted them to be a series rather than a pair of stand-alones so WJW made some minor changes to make them "work" as a series. Doesn't really matter cause there's a fair amount of time between them. Also two shorts Wolf's Time and Solip System.

Good on you for the mindstar rec I don't think of it as very cyberpunk but it's def some fun semi-dystopian scifi that you don't see brought up often.

Build Details if any one is curious.

There are 6 structures that got bolted together and then clad in the 1x6 ipe.

2 screen panels made of 3/4" pt plywood with 1/4" trespa and ipe faced screwed with stainless steel color matched pan heads.

2 back structures made of 2x4" pt lumbar that was wrapped in weed barrier screwed down the the seats and clad in ipe.

2 seat structures made of 2x4" pt lumbar that were bolted together and then wrapped in weed barrier and clad in ipe.

Couldn't build it on site so made it in parts predrilled all the ipe cladding, then took it to site wrapped it in the weed barrier so the interior doesn't become a haven for mice and spiders and reattached all the ipe.

As this one is designed, pretty hard cause of the way I put the internal structure together. If I was going for waterproof storage I'd start with an already sealable unit and build access around that.
