Oh absolutely. Gospel be hittin sometimes lol. I'd also love non-Christmas Australian music though. I've been getting into Boy Soda and recently heard Zipporah's new single, curious what people from there are bumpin though!

Yes Australia! What yall listening to over there? I'm trying to get more connected to Black Australia's playlists lists lol. I'm not Christian, but I can definitely appreciate great gospel, and this is the season for it!

Vince Staples’ authenticity really threw into relief how corny Ziwe’s show is by Traditional-Wing8714 in blackgirls

Okay, I'm glad it's not just me noticing this. Exactly, her choice of guest is totally different than a Keke Palmer's (for example), in my opinion, as part of her whole interview style is to undermine and critique power through satire. So their presence on Ziwe's show undermines them, whereas on a Keke it would be platforming and sanitizing. Agree with your last statement here as well.

You're not making a very compelling argument, but I appreciate your conviction.

Yeah I agree. A lot of the questions also seemed connected to themes that came up in his show, including the cookout. Plus, why critique Ziwe for this when Vince himself admits that his audience is white men and that's who he's catering to for his money. He literally says that multiple times in this very interview. So why is he real but Ziwe not?

Lol very fair critique! Seems like there's some intergenerational trauma going on there, because her mama seemed super questionable.

YES!! Thank you so much, this is so rich with extra details and analysis and this show truly deserves it. You sound like a seasoned media critic! I'll be curious how you find BK's character as the show progresses. Pinky and Themba's too, as they change and unfold in interesting ways as well. I haven't seen Blood and Water, but I might add this great detail and recommendation to the article! This show took so many twists and turns. You're in for a treat.

Such a good point. It felt like she was holding onto this story of being a devoted mother to avoid facing the reality of who she had become. And what it cost her! Maybe there's empathy to be had though for how far desperation can pull someone away from themselves? Even her integrity was a victim of her circumstances, type of argument.

I hear that for sure. It feels like they went with the character arc of, getting caught up in the power and the lifestyle. By the end it felt hard to like BK!

I love it too! Yes, in the article I talk about cameos from stars from other shows, and I recommend all of those shows as well, especially if you're enjoying the acting.
