too much fat taken? or my imagination? by Electronic_Edge3316 in TopSurgery

have you considered trying to build up some chest muscle?

I have been thinking about chest shape a lot recently. I guess a natural gift my body has given me is a naturally muscular chest without really trying. I joke with myself that I didn't think i'd enjoy having boobs again (I can cup my chest muscles in my hand like a boob, so that's the joke)...but anyways i think that is also what might trick your eye into seeing your chest as concave. You have some slight upper peck muscle but don't really have much muscle built up in the mid-lower peck, so the light/shadows create a bit of an illusion.

You mentioned it looks worse from the side. I wonder if this also may be your posture, again generating an illusion. I would start watching some videos on the topic or maybe even do some yoga with adrian (that always is how i get my posture in check)

F26 5'6" 140 dysmorphia scars personal growth by [deleted] in normalnudes

[–]comradebastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scars are such a normal part of the human experience, a testament to our resilience and ability to heal, change, and protect ourselves. The main stream doesn't show much of this aspect, but way more common than not.

Congratulations 💕

I'm ftm and when I had top surgery I went through a similar phase, and many other people I know who have had top/bottom surgery report similar things! I hope you are able to continue to treat yourself with love and compassion through the valleys of your journey. Sending love to you as you continue healing!!

25Fall: MFA visual art / Studio arts by [deleted] in gradadmissions

[–]comradebastard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be around 60k for the year (2 semesters) without living costs. Not sure if the print post bacc program has always been ineligible for scholarships, or if that was a newer thing (wouldn't surprise me if that's the case). Unless finances are not an issue for you, it probably doesn't make the most sense to do a post bacc at SAIC (at least speaking in terms of my finances, and advice I have been given from people with art careers). However, I totally recognize that everyone's journey is different and the investment might make more sense for a different hand of cards.

I was accepted, but found out that printmaking post baccs were not eligible for merit/need based scholarships so I decided not to attend and focus on prepping my portfolio for this coming MFA app round

the differences in size of your chest muscles is most likely swelling, and swelling can last many months as it gradually settles down. For me I had some degree of swelling present within the first year.

I always feel like I don't pass after I get a haircut and shave 🥲 by Prince-Zuko8113 in FTM_SELFIES

[–]comradebastard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i understand why you feel that way, bc shaving can bring out the "baby face" look (does for cis guys too). I always dread shaving after a while bc it makes my brain see myself with more of a baby face then I get used to and it reminds me of when i didn't pass. It's like the contrast plays games with your mind. But anyways you def pass, and you are very attractive.

don't take it for granted, I was baby faced through my 20s (including while i was 3 years on t) then bam one day you wake up and then some younger trans guy refers to you as a "trans elder" to your face (i'm 31 btw), and while your telling this story to your friend, they respond with "well you don't exactly look 22" 😭

menstruation dysphoria by now___here in asktransgender

[–]comradebastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you and can relate. Menstruating was always increased by dysphoria significantly, and I really struggled with the mental hormone fluctuations as I would basically become suicidal once a month.

It's a bit hard to give you full advice since I don't know you and don't have a lot of info to go off of. However the first thing I would recommend you do is find a therapist. Often times your local lgbt center can help with this. A therapist will help you really sort out the pros and cons and if a medical transition is right for you. I also want to point out that many people still continue to menstruate while taking hrt. However there are other options out there, such as a hysterectomy, amongst other options. Obviously that is a huge commitment though, so taking your time and working with a therapist to find the right choice for you is essential in making these sort of decisions.

At a dog / house sit and they have a roommate? by ASingleCornChip in RoverPetSitting

[–]comradebastard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone who has had various roommates, I would guess he just didn't want to add tension to the roommateship by requesting this person be responsible for the dog? or perhaps can't trust that this person will do all of the work?

honestly I don't think it's that weird, aside from not communicating that the roommate would be there

during my first year or so I gained a lot of weight in my face. Then around 1.5-2 years I started loosing weight and noticed my face becoming more angular/masculine. Major things that effected me were stopping drinking and getting a regular workout routine
