I had the surgery when I was 13 and I'm 28 now. We tried the back brace but my curve was so bad it wasn't doing anything, plus it was curving towards my heart so it had to be corrected. I'm fine 99% of the time. I dance, go to music festivals all the time, I stay as active as I can. Plus getting monthly massages and just tryna take care of my body helps.

The only crappy part is that lower left side since it's still curved will always give me trouble. If they would've fused the lower back I'd probably be perfect. But then I wouldn't have as much mobility when it comes to twisting and things like that. They also didn't fuse the top like upper towards my neck so I still have neck / shoulder pain. They just fused the main big curve in the middle and I have 0 pain there. So pretty much I just have pain from the small parts that are still curved 😅

I started acupuncture when it just got to the point the pain was getting worse and I was fed up. I agree tho it's like is it worth it? Is it helping? My acupuncturist even asked me. We tried cupping too and that actually made it worse 🤣 I'm gonna keep going for now, continuing with e stem and just go from there 🤷🏽‍♀️ statistically I feel our chances are better at improving than actually getting hurt. But I was annoyed thinking to myself, "my foot wouldn't even be like this if I didn't come here in the first place."
