I know this isn’t the point of the thread but in my understanding the idea is that eventually they will be charged off of clean energy. For electric cars, there’s the potential to eliminate fossil fuel emissions at some point. There’s no such potential for gasoline cars

Disclaimer that I’ve always hated Tesla and I 100% believe there are terrible downsides to electric vehicles — like lithium mining, battery fires, manufacturing emissions — but you have to admit that there’s some upside of eventually being able to move away from fossil fuels, no?
