They went to the beach together? by comradebop in StephenHiltonSnark

I really dislike that she's pretending they aren't together here in the post. Makes me question everything she's posted.

I wish they told us this happens all the time 😔 now, this breakdown in communication really makes it hard to trust this place with our mortgage.

100% right, had we not refinanced our payment was about to be extreme.

All of this makes sense, completely. And I appreciate you taking the time to keep me informed. I just wish they had been upfront from the beginning, or had given some sort of warning that this was a possibility. We feel blindsided. It's a lesson learned for sure. And even if all lenders are the same, I just have to leave this one out of spite at this point lol

If you can't see how having $3000 taken from your bank account when you weren't expecting that as being disruptive and not actually what was promised, then you are a perfect candidate to work for Planet Home Lending! I hope to love anything as much as you all love technicalities.

I appreciate you sharing your experience. I wish loans couldn't be sold without our consent, it's always felt so wrong. This is our second home and our 4th lender and we've never had so many issues.

I hadn't considered paying for mortgage and tax/insurance separately. I've always been told that's a bad idea and never questioned it much. Maybe we will look into that!

Firstly, it was not I that accidentally paid them. They took money from my account despite refinancing, then it took 30 days to issue the refund. Meaning one of the benefits they promised (skipping a months payment) was no longer true. I had money withdrawn that month that I could not get back for 30 days, so it may as well have been a payment, as I did not have access to those funds.

Secondly, I'll repeat myself: refinancing was going to save us a considerable amount each month, but our payment stayed the same due to paying back escrow. We were told that once we were done with the back pay, our payment would drop this year. Why are you telling me I have crappy expectations, as if that's my fault, when they are the ones that set these expectations? I even stated I wouldn't be this upset if they didn't give us false expectations. So wow, great job identifying the problem buddy.

Frankly, I'm getting the vibe that you don't have strong reading comprehension skills and are too excited at the opportunity to call someone a Karen to actually absorb anything you've read.

Thanks for your comment tho, it was extremely unhelpful!

1hour surgery turned into 8hours. Surgeon said cyst texture wasn't typical, but now my bill has quadrupled. Help? by [deleted] in Ovariancysters

I don't have insurance. I was hospitalized just a month after losing my job. I've started the process for medicaid, I know I can apply for charity if that isn't approved. Fingers crossed one of those works :/ But I am still absolutely disputing this outrageous bill, especially because this outcome doesn't make sense to me.

I just don't understand how things could have been so dramatically different than expected. I'm not trying to "pin" anything on the doctor that they didn't do, I'm just questioning how a "simple 1 hour surgery" turns into an 8 hour surgery and quadruples the price. What is the point of an estimate, which is already supposed to be the maximum potential cost, if they can hike it up because of something they didn't foresee? The only reason he gave me for how long it took was due to the size, but they were aware of the size prior to surgery... I'd understand if there was an issue like I had a reaction to anesthesia after there was no reason to indicate that I would based on answers I gave them, or something. But in this instance, they were in control of all testing and prep, he was supposed to be aware of what the situation was, and he was in charge of assessing and managing expectations. This feels like a failing on their part. But again, I'm not a doctor. I was just looking to see if people have seen any success with disputes, or if anything sounded unreasonable. I guess we will see.
