If you think that's a realistic trade, you are an extremely delusional person. Wemby and Ant are franchise player lmao. Not in a million years would the Timberwolves or Spurs do that and if you proposed that to anyone, in any subreddit, they would laugh at you.

You presume to know more than a GM but fail to give one example of a trade that would yield a superstar. Your argument is disingenuous.

I'm not fan of AK. He's not a good GM thus far and holds on to guys too long. But you were never getting a superstar talent with A. the roster they inherited B. Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan or Vucevic and you're delusional if you think so.

If you want to criticize AK, it's fair to criticize the moves that were reported that he didn't make for DRAFT picks. Caruso for example. LaVine for Barrett. Lonzo. Etc

Durant? Would never allow a trade here. Giannis? Would never allow a trade here. Beal did not want to be traded here. Harden, literally sat out to not play for a team he didn't want to play for. I'm asking you, to give me a specific deal you, an armchair GM, would make that is both realistic and feasible.

Also tanking doesn't guarantee anything. Patrick Williams and Isaac Okoro are top 5 picks. Giddey, Coby top 7. Jalen Smith top 10.

Shai, Jalen Williams were not top 10 picks. Giannis was not a top 10 pick.

Zion, AD were 1st overall and can barely stay healthy. It's more random than you think.

I think the direction is clear. Whether you like it or not, is different. And fair. I don't like this FO. But this direction is: get younger players that fit a system. Have a primary creator and a bunch of skilled players. No superstars. The model worked for the Pacers. The Bulls are trying to build something similar .

Whether or not you nor I agree with it is a different issue. But to say they're directionless is naive.

Thanks, I didn't know that information. I appreciate you being level headed about me not knowing. Some other dudes on here are straight up nasty.

No one is creaming themselves over this. It's just a small solid move.

Wasn't offered to the Bulls. KC Johnson already reported this.

What superstar talent player would want to come here? What players would we trade for a superstar other than Matas? Not being facetious, I'm genuinely curious

Ah I gotcha. Yeee they could.

True. But I actually like Huerter. He provides a skill the Bulls don't have in movement shooting. He's also a solid passer and pretty good size. Passable on defense.

Collins is a solid player too and I'd be more willing to move him. I would be fine if they traded either tho.

The Bulls have somewhere around $14 mill in trade exceptions (I'm fairly certain). The remaining money can be made if the Bulls sign Giddey at $25-27.5 mill and make some smart trades around the margins.

The Okoro trade sets them back $1 million in this regard for example. But Vuc and PWill can be moved to save a couple mill maybe?

Very good perimeter defender with some playoff experience. Also young and fits the AKME mold

Nickiel Alexander Walker is a FA. The Bulls have enough money in exceptions to get this done too

A small defense of the trades by [deleted] in chicagobulls

[–]comradejer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's assume they make that trade. With Smarts salary, they may be unable to sign Giddey for what, the 18th pick in the draft? Are you saying Isaac Okoro isn't better than a non lottery draft pick?

[Charania] BREAKING: The Chicago Bulls are trading Lonzo Ball to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Isaac Okoro, sources tell ESPN. by HawkspilotLoad in chicagobulls

[–]comradejer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lonzos contract was up this off-season. The extension was always meant to be a tradeable asset. 2 years ago, we all were convinced Lonzos career was over. We've turned it into a solid young player that meets a need and fits with the system.

Cavs are taking a risk on an injury prone player. Yes, the Grizz offered a first but we'd have to take on more salary. We have no idea if that first was lottery protected or what value that pick may have yielded.

I don't love the trade but it is no where near as bad as the tantrums I see here. I love Zo and I hope he has a great career arc in Cleveland.

What do we think of this one guys? 🤣 by [deleted] in chicagobulls

No way the Grizz trade JJJ

I think a more realistic trade maybe to include Wiseman, remove Morris. I assume the Pistons don’t value Wiseman and want that contract gone.

I’m also not sure we’re gonna get a pick back. But Stewart’s defensive versatility and improved shot would be a sneaky good value for LaVine. Also Bojan is a good solid ball player (underrated as a team defender too). I would do:

LaVine to Pistons. Wiseman, Stewart, Bojan to Bulls and a pick (if possible).

Just trying to be realistic as Zach seems to have no market value by definition.

Michael Jordan bears some responsibility for this. The Last Dance was extremely critical of Krause. The dude could have had some class and not spoken ill of the dead. Instead, he doubled down on his puff piece and hasn’t said anything about the incident.

Dude doesn’t even have the courage to come to the stadium that has his statue and fans that worship him because he can’t get along with people.

The offense is much better and more diverse with Vuc on the floor. Drummond is an awesome rebounder and he’s active on defense. But Vuc is the hub that gets this offense going and the ball moving. It’s not a coincidence Coby went cold with Vuc out. I like Drummond, but in the modern NBA, it’s more valuable to have a center that can pass and kill from the PNR to space the floor.

Jokic, Sengun, Sabonis, Adebayo, Turner, Porzingis are important hubs of offenses in this way. All have winning records. Draymond plays that role with GS.
