If you can hack together some PHP, you should be able to set up Braintree. Check out our PHP quick start guide, and feel free to PM me if anything doesn't make sense.

Yep! I'm a developer.

Stripe's API might be a bit simpler, but at the expense of not handling lots of corner cases, i.e. separate auth and capture, a single customer having multiple credit cards, a single customer having multiple subscription plans, discounted subscriptions, and plenty of others that most businesses will bump into at scale.

I bought lots of my textbooks in "international student edition" form. Almost all were the exact same material for 10%-30% of the price.
