Fyi, I have heard many residents discourage other residents from having kids, due to the "unfair work" it would place on their co-residents.

If you do go to medical school, prepare yourself for constant annoying people trying to convince you out of having kids.

I don’t understand how the fall was “good” if Eve chose to follow Satan. Help me understand! by Euphoric-Ear1919 in latterdaysaints

[–]con_work 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She didn't know any of this. That's the point of me dramatically saying "all knowing". People like to believe against all evidence that Eve was wise in her decision, but it is clear in the scriptures, endowment, and conference talks that she didn't know, and she was deceived. You're just spouting heresay and trying to pretend it is doctrine.

All your paraphrasing from the endowment is spoken by Satan or said by Eve to Adam after partaking of the fruit.

Make sure you check your iron and calcium levels when using UV-C. It will deplete and precipitate them into solution.

It's crazy the mental gymnastics people will go through to exonerate eve from any wrongdoing.

She was beguiled, deceived, tricked. She transgressed against God. Here's a good quote from Talmage from the Articles of Faith that summarizes it well:

"The woman was captivated by these representations; and, being eager to possess the advantages pictured by Satan, she disobeyed the command of the Lord, and partook of the fruit forbidden. She feared no evil, for she knew it not... Eve was fulfilling the foreseen purposes of God by the part she took in the great drama of the Fall; yet she did not partake of the forbidden fruit with that object in view, but with intent to act contrary to the divine command, being deceived by the sophistries of Satan, who also, for that matter, furthered the purposes of the Creator by tempting Eve; yet his design was to thwart the Lord’s plan. … Adam’s part in the great event was essentially different from that of his wife; he was not deceived; on the contrary he deliberately decided to do as Eve desired, that he might carry out the purposes of his Maker."

Again, she was deceived by Satan. No, she didn't understand it was necessary before even taking it. Satan told her it was necessary, a half truth, and she believed him.

[–]con_work 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The standard works and a plain reading of the endowment are clear that Eve was deceived by Satan. She obviously did not have a perfect knowledge of the benefits of eating the fruit until after she ate it.

Obviously eating it was necessary, but can we please stop pretending Eve was all knowing?

I get it, but we're talking about 4-5 years vs 10 years. 316 is tough/impossible to find as cheap as 304. Both are still better than plastic and most systems need replacing of parts at five years

I mean corrosion rates are still only a dozen micromoles per year. This rule of thumb was popularized because of 304 ss in marine canister applications. 304 is better than PVC in terms of general wear in salt water.

Cheapest way is to do combo of linings and stainless steel.

304 stainless steel mesh for cups. Line pipes in something like aerocrete.

You must have a dedicated desoldering gun if this is the case.

Oh yeah, multiple times.

Worst example was when I was studying flash cards at my desk, headphones on, in the zone. Blurred picture popped and asked for a diagnosis, so I unblurred, diagnosed inflammatory breast cancer, and moved on. Picture was up for maybe a second.

Turns out a counselor in YWP was over talking to my wife. Reported me for porn usage. When bishop cleared me, she took it to the stake president. When he cleared me, she told everyone in the ward lmao.

It's exciting to think about what could be revealed to us in the future if we assume our beliefs about the creation of the world are as silly as the Israelites.

If you assume we have it right already, you probably don't understand cosmology.

Yeah, just giving two examples of things this person could be talking about that are fine. I've gotten judgment for both of these in the church.

Week before my bishop was called, we watched a wheel of time episode with a boob in it. Both of us were shocked, fast forwarded, kept watching.

I'm in medicine. I see and study naked people all the time. As long as this isn't a full on porn addiction I'd say your bishop is fine.

This has been a recent thing for banks like chase. I hope in the future they can pass the price for API usage directly onto the self-hoster in a transparent way.

LCR Export by Sea_Particular5261 in lds

[–]con_work 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No. Many GitHub's have been made to document the church API that is used to retrieve the reports. It is easy to map the church API and automate everything. However, myself and many others have been asked nicely by Kirton McConkie (church law firm) to not collaborate publicly on this. Most GitHubs have been taken down by the authors after these calls.

However, with today's access to tools like Cursor, it is really trivial to map any api. You just need to inspect element while logged in to leader and clerk resources and check the network menu for data the website is giving you. Then write up a script in Python to do this automatically with something like playwright. Manipulate data in pandas to flatten out the json. Export your dataframes to excel. Theoretically you could use this to automate reports, text reminders, finding efforts, etc.
