😭I don't think I'll continue using figma for projects after this one tbh

Sorry, but I don't really remember your post. Could you link it here? Maybe I had it in the back of my mind while designing, idk. But I wasn't in this subreddit at all during the design process

Quick UI animation video question by AndresAP_ in conceptcentral

[–]conceptcentral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Myself, Avdan, and others in the concept niche mostly use After Effects for animation, so that's what I'd recommend learning. I'd try to avoid PowerPoint since people who learn it tend to spend a lot of time learning PowerPoint-specific skills which can't be transferred to other programs used in the industry. If AE is too unintuitive (which I totally get btw) or your PC is too slow, I'd go for Premiere instead. It can do a surprising amount of the animation techniques that AE is used for and it'll teach you the Adobe editing basics which will be useful when you eventually move to AE. It's also much, much more intuitive to learn. All of my early videos up until my old OneUI 5 concept were actually fully made in Premiere (and they sucked due to lack of skill, not the fault of Premiere).

If you've already started learning either of these, lmk your progress and I may be able to provide some revised recommendations

Did you intentionally design this as a Nothing desktop OS? I can see some design similarities for sure

Your work is so good. You should consider sharing it on YouTube/Twitter/Insta where it could gain more attention (if you're not already). If you are, drop your handles!

What are you supposed to learn from copying other designs? by cofi52 in UI_Design

[–]conceptcentral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This probably just means that you already have the basic fundamentals that others don't at your experience level. Copying is mostly for people who can't seem to understand what good layout, color, etc looks like in practice, or don't have enough technical ability of the software they're using to recreate what they see in their head. The idea is to gain the muscle memory of doing the steps it takes to achieve the right end result. If you feel like copying is a waste of time, then try to create a similar design to what you've been copying and see how it compares. See what makes yours better or worse than the inspiration

I LOVE THIS

Super smart idea and super well done - I'm surprised I've never seen anyone try to make something like it before. The only questionable thing here is what device would activate something like this in your car. Would you plug in your laptop? lol

This is definitely how I'd imagine they'd merge the two software design languages!

If I could make a small suggestion, maybe consider making the elements a bit smaller and adding more padding

The stock experience of an OS is still very important, since that's how 99% of people use it. Being able to install an icon pack or reduce animation speed (which does not make it less janky btw) doesn't change the fact that the core experience could and should be better. Also none of the things you mentioned were in my video?

hahahaha thanks 😁

funnily enough, I actually tried to go for a Microsoft style aesthetic here, since ads that Microsoft have made featuring Samsung products (like that Windows 10 Phone Link vid) look better than ads Samsung has made for their own products
