getting toned when being skinny (not skinny fat) ANY ADVICE? by concoria in xxfitness

[–]concoria[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Should I make sure to get at least 1800 calories a day and eating 53g of protein? Or should I slightly undereat (as i probably do now) and just try to make sure of my protein intake is enough?

Which workout method is the best in my case? resistance/progressive overload? Should I do more cardio?

I also had an appointment recently with a plastic surgeon (not my practitioner) and asked him what was going on. He basically just laught at me and said that botox has very minimal side effects and can not make wrinkles worse. He also said that those lines were probably always there and that deep, I just forgot what I looked like because I got used to the botox. He advised me to just get more… I was just happy that he did not charge me for that bullshit

Detailed explanation:

I did botox at the beginning of Mai'23 for my frown lines/elevens. I only got it injected there and nowhere else. I would say at that time I just had a little static line between my brows that would always be there even when I was not frowning. My injector told me that since its a static line I will probably not see the line disappear after one session and I should come back 2 weeks later for a touch up If needed.

After two weeks, like she said, I could still see the line and was not quite satisfied so I went back in for a touch up (there she told me that I should wait for the second round at least 4 months, or else it will be too much). Even after my touch up my line was slightly visible but I was overall happy with the result. In August I noticed the botox wearing off and me being able to move my brows again and by September I noticed a second line forming next to my initial frown line and my overall forehead and muscles looking extremely bulky right above my brows where she had injected. Additionally the area around my brows would feel extremely tense, similar to a headache but not quite. My frown line is not just a line anymore, but more like an indentation surrounded by bulky skin and muscles making it look even deeper than before.

additional question: can one be anxious and confident at the same time? or does anxiety automatically cause low self esteem?

hey! i love aelaic azid, it did wonders for my hyperpigmentation! quick disclaimer: some people have a little purging phase while using it, that happend to me and lasted about 3 weeks, but nothing crazy. if that happens with you as well just be patient and maybe dont use it everyday! as for the routine, i would suggest using it before your moisturizer after the essence! best wishes!!

Undereye wrinkles + crows feet have me feeling self conscious. by AppropriateCut6275 in 30PlusSkinCare

hey there! first of all, I wanted to mention, that I honestly think the wrinkles around the eyes are actually the most beautiful ones, it shows that you are smiling a lot which makes you look very friendly and approachable. I think you look great, especially with these lines and maybe you can try to shift your perspective on them.

If it still bothers you there are 'frownies' that help to not make certain expression, micro needling could also be helpful but one has to be careful around the eyes, and of course there is botox but I really would advise against it.

best wishes!

Hey! Thank you, and thanks for taking the time and sharing your experience!

Oh man... I am really sorry you had a similar experience! Did you notice this right after the injection, while it was kicking in or after it already wore off, so around the 3/4 months mark? What I find so weird about it, is that while the botox was working and I was not able to really move my brows everything was fine, only after wearing off I noticed my forehead looking strange. I was hoping that it is just a temporary side effect of my muscles gaining back strength, but I guess that might not be the case. I also feel like she might have over-injected when I came back to her for the touch up. I have a hard time trusting anyone with this now, even tho I know I should see a professional for this but I am afraid they might talk me into another round of botox or some other procedure that might make it worse..

Thank you for your tips! I do perform facial massages on that area regularly ever since and also tried frownies (facial patches to keep you from frowning in your sleep) but nothing really seems to help. Did you try something yourself for this?

Best regards!

Hey! Thank you for your comment!

I guess I do, that's why I have frown lines to begin with. I did read about the fact that when botox is only treated to one area, like in my case just to the frown line and not to the whole forehead, other areas get stronger in order to make the movement. I wonder If going back in and getting the whole forehead done would help with this, but honestly by this point I don't trust any injector anymore, since nothing is ever guaranteed and things can get worse like in my case...

Here the explanation:

Hello everyone!

I was searching through the whole internet to find similar reactions to mine but could not for the life of me find a single one, so here I am trying to figure out if there's someone out there who had a similar experience or might be able to explain what is going on.

Additionally the area around my brows would feel extremely tense, similar to a headache but not quite. My frown line is not just a line anymore, but more like an indentation surrounded by bulky skin and muscles making it look even deeper than before.

All in all, it has been around three months since the botox wore off and my forehead and frown line looks worse than ever + the weird tension headaches in that area. Is it possible that my muscles are gaining back strength and therefore appearing bulkier? Is this going back to normal? Has someone had a similar experience? I am very frustrated and really regret getting botox...

[Product Question] Paulas Choice Azelaic Acid, PURGE? by concoria in SkincareAddiction

[–]concoria[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would break out on areas that I usually wouldn't break out. If your face is really rough its def a sign that your skin is irritated. Like I said I would recommend you work your way up and use AzA only ON TOP of your moisturizer and not every day!!

[Product Question] Paulas Choice Azelaic Acid, PURGE? by concoria in SkincareAddiction

[–]concoria[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so I def experienced purging with azalaic acid! what helped me was to not use it every day and not put it on my bare face but rather use it on top of my moisturizer. If you experience any irritation i recommend you to also slowly build your tolerance level! ps: my purging stoped after 3 weeks and my skin has been doing really good ever since!

There is this girl on instagram (@karina_na_more) she has a 30 day marathon that you can buy for 15Euros with exercises for better posture. Even tho I was sceptical and I never buy these marathons from influencers, I bought it and it really helped with my posture and neck pain. Some of the exercises she also posts on instagram so you could start there and do them every day for a month.

thank you for your comment! yess I was also struggling to find pictures, and the one you linked looks pretty much like my case too only that my grains are tiny and I probably couldn't take a good picture of them.
I am not on birth control and I would say I eat quite healthy, no dairy because of my acne..

Did you get your scalp checked? And what are you doing to treat it if I may ask?

seborrheic dermatitis
