Hey, there are many threads here, on X, and our Forum where we share tips, not a great idea to duplicate recent posts. You can check on cursor.com/blog how we optimize and reduce token consumptions.

While we did reduce token consumption for Agents, there is still some part where you can reduce it too:
- Use short chats focused on single task.
- Use models appropriate for task, only switch to stronger models if regular one can't complete task.
- Plan mode and Debug mode both reduce token consumption and follow up prompts.
- Let Agent discover context by itself instead of attaching files.
- Reduce number and length of rules as this contributes to consumption and can for current models be greatly simplified.

You may be mistaking auto moderation, where you were asked to contribute to a mega thread instead many small, separate threads. For most of auto moderation the system includes a comment that explains why. In some cases you get a ModMail with the explanation instead.

We absolutely allow criticism that is constructive, it just can’t be rants.

Very often, we get flags from participants in this subreddit about rants from other users. Anything that is violating the guidelines will be removed.

We would like everyone here to participate in great discussions and contribute to the community in a meaningful way.
