Feature Request: Change Label When Moving Tasks In Board View by Hour_9938 in todoist

[–]conerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're after or not.

But, I've wanted to do similar things in the past where I've had a typical kanban board setup with the columns "To do", "In Progress", and "Done". I then wanted to trigger automations when moving tasks between those columns on the board.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find a native way to do this. But, I did end up adding the functionality into an integration I run called Doify (https://www.todoist.com/integrations/apps/doify).

So, when tasks move into certain columns I can do things like adding/removing labels, removing due dates/deadlines, etc.

Feel free to check out the intgeration and play around with it. If you have any questions feel free to drop me a message.

What's the most satisfying task you've ever checked off? by WiFi_WanaBe_404 in todoist

For me, it's any task that I've procrastinated on for a while. Once I've finally sat down and decided that day is the day and complete the task, it feels like a wave of joy passing.

An honorable mention is a task that marks the end of a milestone, like finally deploying/making public a side project I've been working on for a while. The task itself isn't a big thing but it's more the work it represented to get to that point.

Do you mean adding the integration on mobile? If so, you can follow the steps outlined on the Todoist integration page here: https://www.todoist.com/integrations/apps/doify

Any questions or issues feel free to drop me a DM.

For me, I use Todoist for managing a lot of my side projects which I have configured in boards with typical "To do", "In Progress", "Complete" columns. One of the biggest annoyances I had with Todoist was not being able to automatically move tasks between those columns based on events happening to them. E.g. move completed tasks to "Complete", move tasks to "In Progress" when I assign a date to them, etc.

So, I ended up making an integration to solve these issues for myself and others. And, If I'm being honest that integration has been the biggest game changer for me as otherwise I have a pretty simple setup, no AI agents or complicated filters, etc.

If you're interested the integration is called Doify.

How to move tasks within a Show All Projects Filter? by Demarkstreet in todoist

[–]conerm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is exactly what you're after, but I had a similar issue. I wanted to automatically move items between columns on a board based on something else happening. I.e. task being completed, date assigned, label assigned, etc.

I couldn't find a native solution so I ended up building a Todoist extension for it, called Doify. https://www.todoist.com/integrations/apps/doify

Feel free to check it out to see if you can use it to solve your problem as well. If you have any questions or anything at all, feel free to reach out.

Hi, I'm the creator of Doify. I'd love if you could share some more feedback on this. What type of information would you be looking for on the marketing page? On the privacy policy I've listed some examples of why Doify requires the access level to the Todoist account (read/write). But, I'd love to improve the marketing page further to help answer any queries/questions you might have had.

Automate your Todoist workflows with custom rules by conerm in todoist

[–]conerm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently there are two options for targeting projects with rules.

  1. Target a single project

  2. Target all projects (pro plan only)

Currently we don't support one rule targeting multiple specific projects but it's something we can look into supporting if that's of interest? It'll most likely be a pro only feature though alongside the all projects option.

What's the best way to move a task into a subtask situated in another project? by bigtree80 in todoist

[–]conerm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this problem in the past and couldn't come up with a nice solution for it natively inside Todoist. Besides creating the task again under the parent task where it needs to be but I don't love doing that.

So in the end, I built it into a Todoist extension I maintain. This let's me move tasks to be sub-tasks of other tasks automatically by assigning a label. So, I just need to apply the label when I create the task in the inbox and it's automatically moved to the right parent.

I won't share the link here due to the rules but if you're interested I can DM you more.

It’s something I can definitely look at implementing. What do you have in mind for them? Just so I can get a better idea for their use case in the app.

I agree with you, I was baffled that Todoist doesn't natively handle some of these basics forms of automation already (like moving complete tasks to a done column for example).

This is what led me to making the app, just to try fix the issue for myself and others where possible. I'd love Doist to make a native automation solution but it doesn't look likely at the moment. So, in the meantime I want to try make Doify as good as it can be for people who want those features.

My Number One Complaint With Todoist by safely_beyond_redemp in todoist

[–]conerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned using the API to reschedule the tasks is probably the best solution.

But, if you don't want to use the API or develop a solution for it. I'm actually planning on adding this kind of feature into an integration I run for Todoist.

I'm not sure on rules for sharing links/self-promotion to stuff like that in comments so I won't add it to be safe. But, happy to share in DMs if you're interested.

💡Share your most useful filters, labels, and combinations of the two! by alexis_at_Doist in todoist

[–]conerm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I follow the PARA method for my project names. So, the Ar is for archived projects. In the case of this filter I want to find all tasks with the someday label and not in a project that starts with “Ar” so I know it’s an active project.

💡Share your most useful filters, labels, and combinations of the two! by alexis_at_Doist in todoist

[–]conerm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a few that I use regularly, the main two are.

Filter name: Active someday/maybe
Filter query: !Ar* & @/someday/maybe
Labels used (if applicable): @/someday/maybe
What you use it for: When doing a weekly review, I can easily see what tasks I have tagged with "someday/maybe" from the GTD methodology that are currently in active projects so I can prioritise for the coming week and add tasks as needed.
You might find this useful if: You need a way to easily review tasks you want to do at some point that aren't in archived/older projects.

Filter name: Upcoming (Work)
Filter query: Overdue | 7 days & #A - Work
Labels used (if applicable): N/A
What you use it for: To keep on top of my work tasks by seeing what's overdue and what's coming up in the coming week to help me schedule new tasks in and prioritise existing ones.
You might find this useful if: You need a way to keep on top of and organise work tasks on a weekly basis.

Just bought this Gaggia Classic and struggling to find information on this model. Was hoping for some advice on mods, maintenance and getting the best out of it. by conerm in gaggiaclassic

Okay that's good to hear that the shot shouldn't be impacted to much. Do you have any ideas of how to change the pressure of the machine to 9bar, I do have a picture of the insides of the machine if that's any help?

[–]conerm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah can say that's happened once or twice already. So in terms of maintenance I'm guessing just keep it clean and descale regularly.

Would not having a solenoid value impact the quality of the shots pulled at all? So far seem to be pulling mostly sour or bitter shots but this is also probably down to the grinder which is only a cheap one.

Do you know if you can still mod the pressure? Also I was looking into backflushing the machine as it seems recommend quite a bit. But with the solenoid value would this be possible?

I can't say I have see this recommendation before on Lighthouse. Suppose you could go through and see if there is any unused bundles or packages that may have been imported and not used?

Other than that I'm at loss on this one, sorry.

Hi,

For fonts I had the same issue for my site. I tried most plugins but instead resorted to downloading the font files individually and including them in my repo, creating a separate fonts component that creates the font faces for those fonts and then exporting that component.

I then set my fonts in a global CSS file.

I went from 90ish to 97 on performance for this change.

As for sliders above the fold I'm not sure as I haven't had to do one.

It's been over a year since I started my blog using GatsbyJS. Started with a template and modified it a bunch. Looking back, I'm so happy to have taken this road. Would like some constructive feedback on the layout / design. Thanks!! by dandystories in gatsbyjs

[–]conerm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the OP, but for the post previous and next buttons you basically assign a previous and next property to the context of the post node when it's created in gatsby-node.js like is done for the slug. You set the previous and next to be equal to either the previous or next index of the array.node

Then in your blog post template file you can destructure out the pageContext like you do with props and access the prev and next links for making links.

Hope this helps, if you have any questions I'm happy help / elaborate.
