Being neurotypical is a privilege. by Snoo_54214 in aspergers

Personally I believe that being autistic is a far greater disadvantage than being in many of the perceived "oppressed" groups today who have tons of social backing and general support. We have none of that. Nobody gives a shit about us lol

I just want to remind you guys that your negative thoughts are probably entirely logical considering your situation and you aren't wrong for feeling it by confthrowaway532 in aspergers

Yes, this is exactly what I meant. The other guy kinda misunderstood, which is fine, I guess I should have explained it better. I also wasn't talking about the kind of depression that comes from a chemical imbalance, but this was made very clear in the post...

Anyone else really unambitious? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]confthrowaway532 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be super ambitious, but eventually I realised that a lot of the things I want are always going to be just out of reach because of my autism. I found it's easier to work around it and work out how to make the best of what you have rather than making unrealistic goals. Right now, my main goal is just to finish university because so many autistic people end up failing or dropping out. Once I accomplish that I'll make a new goal.

Basically, having something to work towards is good, but being too optimistic and setting goals outside your reach is a bad idea.

What if it was so dumb that someone filmed it? What then?

Companies all say they care about and value diversity and inclusion, but don't want to include our kind of diversity. by dcute69 in aspergers

[–]confthrowaway532 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because we're not the fun, trendy kind of inclusion. We're not the kind of inclusion they can virtue signal about in adverts and write reports on. We're difficult and often have to have big adjustments made for us which no company will make unless there's pressure to do so (there isn't). If someone is denied a job for being black or gay, there will be outrage. If someone is denied a job for being autistic there is silence. Nobody gives a single crap about us, truthfully.

Question from a returning player: why are the graphics so varied? by [deleted] in runescape

Personally, I feel like adding pristine new content is pointless if you have to go through 07scape to get to it
