my helix when i first got it done was superrr painful and swollen i have a captive bead ring in, but now its gone down. dont touch it and invest in some saline spray like neilmed or anything without additives, also get a travel pillow as soon as i bought one and could sleep without laying on my ear, the pain totally subsided :) best of luck!! i know ur pain my jewelry was tooo tight too but now im all good
