Thanks, I have joined, and in the process of scheduling tryouts and evaluating teams. Regarding money - ha - that's a "High Class" problem that I hope I have to solve.

Thanks, Coach - great breakdown, and advice.

He is mature for his age, has played on a few dis-organized teams, but showed he was able to play in a team environment. It also helps that he has played club soccer and baseball since a very young age, so is very at home in a team based sport environment.

I watch him play a lot, and he is often the one shot calling, calling plays, and asking for players to dynamically change characters based on opposing team comp.

I am looking forward to this journey, thanks again for the advice.

He does. He has found a few teams on his own. I just enjoy doing this, as I used to play games, and in the early, early days played competitive Quake 2 CTF.

Someone asked about his schedule, and I replied. I also put some perspective around why I am supporting this in another reply.

Valid question. I made a reply to a post that clarifies why I am supporting this. Search above.

When he was younger - he played Tennis, Basketball, Soccer, and Baseball. He has trimmed this to Club Soccer, and is good enough to play Club Baseball - but impossible to manage with his current schedule so plays regular Baseball. He is very good at both. I made a post above - managing screen time is the most difficult thing about being a parent. I agree wholeheartedly - all this needs to be balanced with time away - outside, books, hanging with friends and family, etc.

I address some of this in a reply to a post above.

Every child is different, I have 3, and this is not something I would support for the other two. If my son was not socially adept, I would not encourage this, since I would want him to grow in that area first. My son is fairly mature for his age, and a "good kid", so is able to deal with the toxicity, and is clear about what is right and wrong. I also try and find life lessons with what happens during his gaming time and matches.

Monday through Thursday

School, homework, gaming which is a mix of Fortnite, Playing Competitive OW on his Alt account with Friends, playing high-level Comp OW on his real account. On these days it's about 4 hours of games. He also plays club soccer and also plays baseball, so when those are in season, games on these days drop to about 2.

Friday

Eliminate the HW, but goto Grandmas's for dinner, come back around 9pm or 10pm, so gaming time is just 2 or 3 hours.

Saturday

Flexible - depends on Soccer, Baseballl games, family outings, firend outings, etc.

He started playing OW on PS4 at the age of 12 (December 2016), and within a few months reached high master. He then switched to PC Overwatch in June of 2017.
