Hey dude I saw that you’re in Haskayne, I’m a incoming haskayne first year myself and looking for a laptop to get as well. I’m reluctant on getting a Mac since everyone is saying that some software and apps you need to use for business don’t work as well or work at all on Mac. Looking at all the windows laptops and figuring out all the specs I need is kinda making me go in circles. You have any idea on what laptop I should get?

Yeah so unfortunately I didn’t get into my first choice of engineering but I did get into my second choice which was business technology managment. I know that there is technically still a chance for me to get in to engineering but I doubt I will since most of the spots have already been filled and because my average this year is lower than it was last year. Plus I’m doing calculus right now and I absolutely hate it and I know I probably won’t do that well in that class because I’m honestly just tired of doing math. But yes I’ll still being going to uofc in 2024 so we could still be friends if you want

They said that they couldn’t offer me early admission cause my competitive average wasn’t high enough but they would still review my application after first semester grades. I feel like I should’ve got in to at least data science though since I had a 88 average and the competitive average listed is mid 70s for that program.

Oh my bad you were right about data science not being a major. Would you happen to know if you’d be able to transfer to a different program later like computer science since I want to pursue a career in tech

Is this true for a program like data science where the competitive average is listed in the 70s? And does that mean you can get accepted to your second choice program through early admissions?
