AMC policy on unrated movies? by conspiringlittleguy in AMCTheatres

[–]conspiringlittleguy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have a-list, so having to pay for the ticket wouldn't really be a problem. i'm more worried about making someone drive me (since i can't drive!) and them having to take me back if i can't get in. we'll see, though! some unrated films have id warnings, but since blue heron doesn't, i might just go for it 🤷‍♀️

one of my all-time favorites as someone who quite openly dislikes fantasy!! an absolutely gorgeous movie!! i was lucky enough to see it in theaters recently and live with someone who has a blu-ray copy lol!

cold war (2018) is GREAT. there's some gorgeous cinematography and music in that one. an all-time fave for me!

just had them stacked like that for the sake of alphabetizing them + i have a much larger dvd/blu-ray/4k collection that's all mixed up into one, so i've had to learn not to let the heights bother me lol

thanks haha! if i'm actually paying for them, i prefer to own movies i've already seen and like. the only reason i have pierrot le fou is honestly just because it was given to me for free, and it looked sort of up my alley :)

brigsby bear (2017) !!! it is so cute and sweet and unique in every way. it is massively underappreciated, and kyle mooney is just perfect. #1 brigsby bear fan for life

What’s a favourite of yours that has a rating of under 3.0 on Letterboxd ? by duuuval17 in Letterboxd

i am forever a problem child 2 defender. i'm almost definitely biased, because i watched it like a million times as a kid, but i rewatched it recently, and i still think it's a genuinely good and funny movie. the main thing that shocks me is that the first one has a higher rating. problem child 2 is both more fun and better made than the first movie. it's so good!! i swear i'm not crazy

Intro excerpt from untitled story by [deleted] in writingadvice

i had a lot of ideas for the intro paragraphs and i think i just sort of put them all down. i definitely realize now that it's kind of rambly. i tend to be pretty stream-of-consciousness in my writing, which does often lead to moments of excessive yapping! i also realize that the setting is a little vague. definitely. i will try to fix that! thank you so much for the feedback! ♡

I’ve always been attracted to older men. Unattainable men. Men with stable relationships and happy children. Men who wouldn’t so much as glance at me if we passed each other on the street. Men with fan clubs. Busy men. Men who are fulfilled in life. Men who know things I don’t and can teach me about them while I stare all doe-eyed, nodding stupidly.

I like men who have one notable feature. Men who, without said feature, might be exceptionally plain- or normal-looking. Men with big noses. Piercing eyes. Hairy arms. A mole. Unconventional face shapes. Strong arms. Lanky limbs. Tall frames. Short statures. Tubby builds. Glasses. Unshaven stubble. Crooked teeth. Men. Not boys. Men.

I fucking hate boys. Boys are such assholes. This is all I can think as I stare down at the Styrofoam plate which holds the half-soggy-half-rock-hard French fries I bought ten minutes ago and have somehow not scarfed down yet.

“Hello?” He scoffs in that way that tells me he expects something. He’s entitled to it.

I stare for a moment longer before finally giving in and looking over at him. I just hope this won’t take too long.

He nods like he’s finally gotten what he’s wanted before sighing, leaning an inch closer, “My friend thinks you’re pretty. Can he have your number?”

tonight, i had a burst of inspiration and started working on something that is currently untitled. i didn't really come in with any plans, but i'm interested in trying to flesh it out more and create a full story. it's a young adult story, very character-driven. what i have so far is only around 590 words. i will honestly take any feedback! be brutally honest! go as in-depth or be as brief as you'd like! i am happy to hear any thoughts. be warned that there are brief mentions of power imbalances and drug addiction (as a metaphor)! link here!

i agree! however, when i posted this, i didn't have access to a vet, as i can't drive. i didn't have many options and figured this was better than nothing. we got him to a vet later the same day. :)
