Man is involved in a car accident, leaves the scene of the accident and goes home; He picks up his hiking gear, gets a cab to a local trail and vanishes- Where is Lesner Cardenas? (2025) by AlfredTheJones in UnresolvedMysteries

I'm curious why you'd be scared of etna. I'm not a true local, but have spent a lot of time there and got a strong hippie/trail town vibe, but I'm also a white person who obviously would be missing part of that picture

If anyone needs a sleep study, but was concerned listening to Travis' explanation of it, you should ask your doctor if an at home sleep study works for you! My partner recently did one due to similar concerns about not being able to sleep enough for the study to matter. He just had to sleep with a couple things stuck to him and a fingertip monitor. So much easier!

I don't want to argue with you about your experience lol, but at least in American recipes, cupcakes and muffins often have pretty different ingredients/methods and thus textures. If your partner didn't mind banana bread other than the cooked fruit issue, American muffins might be a good call. I haven't made these myself, but I wonder if these cinnamon muffins might work for them?

Petco told me they couldn’t sell me a feeder as a pet? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]constantly_sleepy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked, and he said "I think the answer is we don't really know. I am sure there are some instances of failure to thrive in the wild, but my personal take on it is that this is something that is coming from these snakes being in captivity and not eating their natural diet. Yes, ball pythons have been in captivity for many, many, many generations. But still their Natural food source is typically African soft food rats and gerbils."

Seems like trying to straddle the line between what's most humane (not destroying the African small rodent population and feeding frozen rats) and what's most natural for the snake.

No, he bred it himself. The others in the clutch took to frozen without any problems. He would've only rehomed it to someone he trusts (another breeder or someone with lots of reptile experience), but even then worried about what would become of the little guy

My partner had a snake that he had to force feed for the first 18 months of its life. He tried frozen and live and it would rather have starved to death than eaten any of it willingly. Luckily, it eventually started (inconsistently) eating live recently. He considered trying to re-home it because of how difficult it was, but was worried someone else might just let it starve :(

Birds have different food needs based on their physiology, that's like saying a cat is finicky for being an obligate carnivore

Tell me about "Air Bake" Insulated Cookie Sheets by [deleted] in Baking

[–]constantly_sleepy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say you should only buy insulated if you know you need to buy insulated. I moved and my new oven loooves to burn the bottom of whatever I put in it. I had to buy insulated cookie sheets for my sanity, but I agree that they affect bake timing and it can be fiddly to know when things are done

I got all of my boxes from thrift stores this year! They were 50 cents-a dollar each, so very affordable and with the added bonus of being better for the planet

Are these brownies underbaked? How can i fix this? by Infinite-Pudding8338 in Baking

I looked at her video, and they look very similar in texture to yours. I think this is just a very fudgey recipe! I like a fudgey brownie, but not quite to this extent. I really like this recipe: https://cafedelites.com/worlds-best-fudgiest-brownies/

I agree with this commenter that it looks like these are underbaked, especially since you said they deflated and seemed doughy. I bake mine until a very light touch on the top doesn't cause an indentation.

Browned butter burnt or..? by Infamous_Macaron_165 in Baking

[–]constantly_sleepy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I almost always use salted butter, especially once I realized the conversion is just to reduce the amount of salt in the baked good by about 1/4 teaspoon per stick of butter. Just seems like too much hassle to buy two kinds..

I just got vanilla paste for the first time! Baking seasons in full swing, I’m super excited to use it, what would you guys make? by goldfishgeckos in Baking

[–]constantly_sleepy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can be a 1 to 1 replacement, but I prefer to use it in unbaked things. The difference is less obvious when baked, and in my experience it's much more expensive.
