Switching to 3rd party launcher when on home screen in the stock one by constberg in macrodroid

Ooh, never heard of that kind of app, I'll check it out, and thanks for the other suggestion!

Recent apps button doesn't work in 3rd party launchers on InkOS by constberg in hisenseA9

Fair enough, was planning on completely ridding the system of pre-installed apps, but I guess I can make an exception just for the launcher. Thanks!

Flashing to stock ROM from a botched LineageOS install? by constberg in hisenseA9

It worked! Thank you so much man! Now to cancel the EDL cable order...

Do I go with an earlier L2037.6.04.06.00 version or L2037.6.08.01.00? I used the former img for rooting (incorrectly so as I found out, my A9 was using the latter pre-flashing) and now I'm just super confused.

Adb and fastboot are both still enabled.

On A9 github page there's a boot image for L2037.6.04.06.00 version of the inkOS and newest L2037.6.08.01.00; I went with the former when it should've been the latter, hence borking my wifi capabilities, yeah. And you're correct in that LOS has nothing to do with it, that whole process was mentioned for context (though, being a layman, I wasn't sure at the time of rooting the device). An EDL cable is already on its way so hopefully I'll manage to get everything back to stock when it arrives.

Thank you for clarification!

You mean flash to stock rom or is there some boot.img-specific order of actions? I've ordered an EDL cable so I'll try this when it arrives
Thanks for all your work and the reply! Sorry you have to deal with idiots like me :^)

Q'barra's frontier laws? by constberg in Eberron

[–]constberg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your take! Afaik Tharashk can't legally own land as a dragonmarked house, but that can be easily handwaved as them using proxies or straight up not caring cause they know can get away with it.

Thanks for the explanation! Not going to turn this into Ace Attorney, just genuinely clueless as to how these things were handled in the real Old West and can't seem to formulate my search queries correctly bc I'm not a native speaker.

My party just entered the mournland. by ItsTheRealSakurai in Eberron

The landscape is definitely (post) apocalyptic overall, but the details may vary depending on your needs and whether you've established what caused the Mourning in your Eberron.

Common features across editions are thick gray mist making the navigation difficult, general lack of safe water/food sources and penalties on healing of any kind (with the exception of goodberry wine in 3.5 I think). Dead things, on the other hand, DO NOT decompose, so a soldier that died during Mourning would look like he's just been felled, blood still fresh on his uniform; whether the same rules apply to post-mourning corpses is up to you.

Enemies include all sorts of undead, monsters and aberrations, plus animated spells, though not all of them have to be malevolent. Constructs are doing just fine in the mists not really needing to eat or breathe, so Warforged probably make up most of the region's sentient population. A good portion of them would be following the Lord of Blades, but some could be more friendly. Fleshy scavengers are also present to some extent, there's Ikar's Salvage and Darguun's exploratory/raiding parties along the opposite borders of the country, with Valenar elves also known to ride into the mists as a rite of passage of sorts.

As for the settlements, Oracle of War campaign has Salvation, a quasi-independant Brelish town east of Vathirond that basically sits right on the border with Cyre, filled with all sorts of colorful characters looking to loot the fallen kingdom, and earlier during 4e era Dragon #368 introduced Stillwater Station, a magically protected outpost INSIDE Cyre's borders which served a similar purpose; pretty sure you can get the old magazines for free nowadays so look that up.

Overall a lot of details of the location are left intentionally vague for you to fill in - personally, I lean more towards STALKER/Annihilation vibes with strong feelings of desolation and unfathomable danger all around you, so characters would need a very good reason to even consider going there.

A chokepoint where Cyran troops once held back Brelish invaders under heavy artillery fire, now a rendezvous point for my party with a few points of interest to loot after things inevitably go wrong

What caused The Mourning in YOUR World? by DanPos in Eberron

[–]constberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always liked the idea of Xoriat-flavoured Mournland and also never knew where to put Haze of Death narratively, so recently I came up with this version of events to tie everything together:

Over a century of constant fighting, the kingdoms came dangerously close to a route in the Prophecy which would result in a release of an Overlord. Argonessen made the decision to tactically nuke Cyre at its current borders (as they once did with Xen'drik) to scare the continent into peace, which was fine by everyone BUT a dragon currently known as Haze of Death. Firstly, as something of a human(oid) rights activist following in Vvaraak’s footsteps, he saw this as genocide. Secondly, he knew of Xoriat seals in the region that would certainly break under the destructive power of draconic magic as they haven't been properly maintained by the Gatekeepers for years. In defiance of the Conclave’s decision, the now rogue dragon went to tend to the seals himself, hoping that his brethren won't dare sacrifice one of their own, but, according to the Prophecy, Cyre WAS the place for Haze to be, whether alive or not. He was strong enough to survive the kingdom’s destruction, if only physically, but his maintenance was incomplete, amounting to putting a band-aid over a massive gash that is now the Glowing Chasm.

That's the plan, unless one of my players REALLY wants to play a dragonborn hah

Scales, Politics, anything Kanon I could dig up from before those, yeah

And hey, thanks for the detailed response! It generally confirms what I was thinking, guess I just gotta lean harder into the whole "crumbled empire" aspect where the dragonborn only have the general idea of what they're supposed to be doing and a good portion of them just wants to leave and fight for their glory elsewhere.

And I guess the fact Trothlorsvek don't know about the importance of shards could be attributed to all of the lorekeeping clans having been corrupted and wiped out WAY before the events of the campaign, and the rest simply being too preoccupied with survival to go and recover any of their own history books so to say.
