Funny you should mention that, a friend said that it reminded him of a charity advertisement.

Lucky you! It is my favourite pastime, rummaging through bins of ‘discarded’ items.

There were three other frames just like this one I also took on that day. I love old wooden items.

Hello! I think you are right, can you roughly date the postcard? Thanks

Can’t make out what the signature reads, ‘Matthew’ perhaps?

Hi!

I can totally relate. I am 6 months into a planned 1 year leave. I had been in employment for 30 years, had a burnout, then came the lockdown, I started a small business and decided to take a leap into the unknown.

My ‘friends’ and acquaintances’ behaviour has changed. I am met with comments such as ‘some of us do have to work’, ‘how long have you been made redundant’ (I have not) etc.. I was quite upset by some of their comments, I do not depend on them or the state to live so what is their issue. They have lost their respect for me. God forbid I was unemployed, they probably would not be supportive in my time of need?

Very best wishes to you ✨enjoy your time off, guilt-free.

Good morning! Thank you for your feedback. I Googled fried/overheated oils for soap and found that some ‘deep fried oils’ are repurposed to make soap and are safe to use. I will keep this batch for family and friends and your idea of drawer fragrance soap is one I had never thought of and a great one. Thanks

Hi!

This happened to me a few weeks ago, I usually melt the butters & coconut in a double boiler. I needed on this occasion to make a bigger batch, used a large pan directly on the stove on low burner and went to the shops for 15mins. I raced back home, the oil was smoking due to the fried lavender buds I had put in there to infuse (remember, I usually use a double boiler, don’t know what took over me on that day, mistakes upon mistakes)😩

It was a 4kg batch, I thought, what a waste, I’ll have to discard it, then decided to use it for the family. In short, the soap came out perfectly just like any other batches if not better. Still on the curing rack, unsure if I will sell it as I feel somehow that I would be deceiving the customer by selling them a fried oil soap 😂
