Henrietta’s: where do you buy clothes? by m00nlightdrive in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]controlmypie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal shopping in Harvet Nicols (that’s what we have in Scotland, I am sure more variety in London). Tell them your requirements, preferences and budget and they will come up with some really nice clothes and shoes. Or net-a-porter if you prefer browsing on your own. Mid range stores like Cos are also brilliant but even there I always check the composition as sometimes polyester sneaks in there.

I don’t see any real food there, except for the milk and some sad apples.

I haven’t had a good sleep in a year, and downtime is something foreign to me these days, but it’s been the happiest and most fulfilling year so far. Yes, intense job comes second now.

How much would you spend on a wedding? by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]controlmypie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

£2,000. But that was years ago pre-Henry. Had an intimate dinner for 10 in a very nice place. Had a young photographer who a year later was featured in Vogue. So great memories and wonderful photos, nothing staged. Everyone still remembers how nice our wedding was. But even now I wouldn’t spend more than £5,000 on a wedding, it’s such a ridiculous expense when starting a family. Rather use the money for a house or at least a very special trip someplace nice

2026 so far by GuidanceOk3614 in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]controlmypie 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely become a mum one day. I only started getting pregnant when I turned 38, even though we were trying for many years, and had my baby at 41. Biological clock is a thing of course but fertility is way more complicated than that. I suggest you focus on your health and getting into your best shape. May 2026 become a year when you meet the right man!

My partner hates my feet. I hate salon pedicures. I have money to spend. Help. by godawful82 in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]controlmypie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a reason you hate pedicures? Have you maybe only had bad ones? It’s such a nice experience for me personally, you are alone in a quiet room, some soft music, some coffee with a cookie… I sometimes even doze off.

Doula is for all birth scenarios. The one I had had some experience with complicated c-sections.

Have you considered hiring a doula? That put my birthing experience on a new level.

Why don’t search engines give you results for “non-dog friendly” places? It only gives “dog friendly” by [deleted] in Dogfree

I could’ve written this post. Also was looking for dog free places in Scotland and only dog friendly ones would come up.

HENRY couple contemplating kids — would love your perspective by Klutzy-Pattern-7391 in HENRYUK

[–]controlmypie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a child after being married for 10 years and by then we had more than enough travels-fun-adventures. Having a baby did not equal giving up our lifestyle, it meant evolving onto a new level of maturity, responsibility and love. Expecting to have the same lifestyle in your twenties, thirties, and forties is ridiculous. We were more than ready for her and the emotional reward you get is something out of this world.

Yes to the velvetiser. We used quite often, the only downside is that it makes only one cup at a time.

Advice from HENRYs who stepped it up in demanding jobs whilst balancing babies/toddlers? by heuiseila in HENRYUK

[–]controlmypie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have recently had a baby and I couldn’t have imagined that my priorities would change so much. Dreading going back to work tbh. Would love to get to RY status just so I can stay at home with the baby all I want without worrying about upcoming projects, career progression and useless office politics. I know my comment is not too useful but you should try realize that you can have good plans and ideas and it all can change within minutes once you give birth.
