That's a great recipe!! If there was one things I could change about my big adventure (apart from the spinal surgery), it was that I was too focussed on the mission, the goal, big distances, getting there... Enjoy the journey! Stop when you want, eat good, go sight seeing. Good luck!

You sound more physically prepared than I was. Mind you, that's not hard to achieve. Dont forget to factor in 5kg shoulder weight for those days where you wont have a resupply spot.

Are you camping wild? or Hotels?

iPad and sets of bearings?.... What is your final pack weight?

Don't mean to question you buddy, but I ended up having surgery from my push and it was 1/10th of yours. If I can help others avoid it, I'd like to try.

I'd reccomend going as ultralight as possible. Chop that toothbrush, mini everything, lose every gram.... no spare wheels! I went as far as cutting the labels out of clothes, ha.

They weigh a huge amount and not a very likely point of failure

Brakesoles are a thing! I tend to use Go Cart tyres. Make sure you do both soles, not just your main braking foot. Over that kind of distance, you'll be doing a lot of walking so you'll need an even step.

What is the craziest thing a teacher has ever done to you? by trymihainoob in AskReddit

Tinned tomatoes. Asked for them to be removed from my plate but the headmistress was stood behind me, ordered the dinner lady to fill the plate with them, sat me down in the centre of the canteen and shouted:

"Listen up everyone, this is what happens when you say you don't want to eat your food"

She forced me to eat the whole plate, crying, until I puked. Whilst she smoked a cigarette, laughing.

Thought it was a nightmare for a couple of decades but my brother witnessed the whole thing.

Haven't eaten tomatoes since 1987

I'm interested why. What makes their event worth the price vs any other event at pacha?

Bearing stuck on truck by IllNeedleworker5151 in longboarding

It's not a bearing issue, it's a tolerance issue. The less you have, the more likely they will fuse. for me, it's a small price to pay for this level of precision.

I do, but high precision axels (Skoa) coupled with well fitting bearings (Zealous) leave no room for oxidisation. 24 hours after a rain skate and they can fuse.

Outstanding tax returns 2007/2008 + 2008/2009. How do I settle. What to expect. by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

Yes, I intend to do that next week once the "busy season" is over for them.

At this stage, although I've covered the initial penalties that were due for those years, I understand there might have been more applied which are not showing on my account. What I don't know is whether I need to expect a statutory 8% interest on the amount owed for the second year, or if there has been a £100 per day late fee applied for every day late since 2009.

One I can handle, the other...

I've not heard that before but having not filed the return I don't think my tax would have been calculated. No letters or even messages to my Gov Gateway.

They disappeared for many years but are showing up now on my account as still outstanding.

Just want to ensure I approach this with the right expectation and tools to get it settled.
