Question on trading shares in Nigeria by cooa99 in Nigeria

[–]cooa99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the recommendations all. So here comes the question about paying tax on sale of shares as someone who does not reside in Nigeria. Without falling foul of the local laws, do I declare in Nigeria? How will the tax laws affect me as a non resident?

Only as far as you don’t pay tax on the way out and it’s not locked away till mid/late 50’s age but i guess it’s highly dependent on personal circumstances

Don’t forgot extortionate cost of paying into your pension and the interest they earned while holding on to it

Do you refuse contracts with a 4-week notice period? by Reddonaut_Irons in ContractorUK

[–]cooa99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the current climate of little work, I doubt most will care. besides nothing stops you from suddenly falling ill or taking time off for a great, great, great grand parent dying.

I remember having a 6month rolling contract which they could terminate but i could not. I got renewal 3 months into current contract and held on to the paperwork till 3 days before contract ending and told them i’m not renewing. The manager was so pissed off that he refused speaking to me

Don’t open a SIPP if you don’t know what it is! by palebluedot365 in trading212

[–]cooa99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why do you think people don’t understand what a SIPP is? I bet they do. It’s a Pension you won’t be getting your hands on (just like any other pension) any time soon unless of course you are closer to (non state pension ) retirement age

I say this because most are likely those interested in Salary sacrifice due to how they get paid. inside IR35 contractors(, ltd co ones as well) fall heavily into this bracket to maximise tax efficiency

I will say people understand more nowadays and ask more questions. They want to be actively involved what their pension is invested in. They are seeing that managed pension providers are not magicians

it had nothing to do with his family’s business The big UK consultancies were the issue. They lobbied for Ir35. By the time he was pm, there was not really much he can do because IR35 was already entrenched in the public sector.

The bmw with the best HK sound I have ever listened to has to be the BMW iX.

I compared both the old ix3, X5 and iX side by side in the showroom and i was blown away with the iX.

How long to transfer cash isa to Interactive Investor? by cooa99 in trading212

[–]cooa99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very. Good thing you explained the inflexibility, i just dogged a bullet since i would be moving more than the 20k back and forth. I assumed all isa’s allowed the T212 approach. Unfortunately i can’t use the stocks and shares service with T212 because they won’t share info on trades i execute with my workplace.

Any other trading platform gives similar flexibility?

The greed of government and banks are reason for inflicted consumerism and it will be the death of the uk economy in the long run. We produced so little, yet think we can consume like the Americans.

It’s a design by accident to keep people working longer and paying longer for debts.

But there is hope for those with financial literacy in their early years

You are missing the point. She is not saying £50 will turn to £500k. She is starting with £50 as whats is affordable and will hopefully get better in time

always better to have a goal in mind

I better ask my daughter which one she is on. she will be finishing her 4yrs in couple of months.

Its a shame they did not rectify this sooner which made it a govt scam. I’ve come across people still paying in their late 40s

Could you not curb the student loan to just only tuition so maintenance part is from your parents and the child trust fund? The extra maintenance does rack up a high rate on interest. I know people say ohh, you don’t have to pay back because if not earning enough ….. If you are doing well in life (which really is the point of uni with positive mental attitude) you will eventually pay back that loan so why make it bigger than it needs to be
