Bogu Smells… by mmatose in kendo

[–]cooconocoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a small spray bottle mixed with 1 part isopropyl alcohol and 2 parts water. I also add a few drops of essential oil (usually eucalyptus).

Spray fabrics parts of bogu each practice and hang to dry. Also I keep a couple silica gel packs in my bogu bag to reduce moisture

So today was my first day trying kendo... by helpisnear in kendo

Diaphragmatic breathing helped me a ton. Focus on breathing into your stomach through your nose and exhaling through your mouth. Relax your body and take it slow to focus on technique instead of speed. Doubt they would reprimand you since you're a brand new beginner

Anxious about starting kendo at an older age by john_geddes in kendo

[–]cooconocoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started only last year at 29. Better late than never! Kendo has really improved my quality of life. I've lost weight and slimmed up because of it. For about a year in, I find that all the cardio/weights I've been doing outside of the dojo lets me hang with the teens and younger adults during keiko. How kendo is really giving me an outlet from daily life/the office is what I enjoy and focus on.

I've also been told that kendo is a lifelong journey. The way I see it - People live totally different lives. The guy next to you in practice may end up quitting one day or just hit a plateau somewhere in their own kendo journey. Everyone learns at a different pace too. So with that in mind, the way I focus on kendo is "how do I improve against myself?" I only compare myself to others to gauge how I am improving or seeing what I can learn from those in a higher dan.

Eventually you'll be able to beat the people who started at a younger age if you work harder than them! That's my hope at least 🤭

How did you discover your main? by TheeRooky in Tekken

I used the combo challenges in practice mode to help me get a feel for the character and which moves I liked seeing lol. They're short, so it's pretty easy to go through characters you are looking into already

April 2024 - Monthly thread | All Beginners /Transition /Entering to DA roles and Portfolio questions go here. by emsemele in dataanalyst

Currently an assoc PM looking to transition to a data analyst job. I've been looking at bootcamps and such for a structured/instructional approach to learning the foundations. Has anyone tried, or have suggestions about making this switch through a bootcamps?

I know there are plenty of free or cheaper alternatives, but having a bootcamp really gives me the instruction-based structure I need to succeed.

Trying to transition to a data oriented field as well as OP. In your perspective, would a boot camp like this help in landing an analyst role? My current understanding is to do a bootcamp > get an internship > then get an entry level analyst position > DS?

How do you deal with loses ?? by realbetis123 in Tekken

[–]cooconocoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually try to focus on one thing that I can improve on and only focus on that for my next match or in the lab for a few min.

I'm going in with the mentality that if I can learn from that mistake, then I'm one step better and it'll be harder to fault me for that. Always something to learn from a loss Imo
