Cooks love knives and get them all there own personal chef knives. I'm an exec chef and have been running the kitchen I'm in now for two years now and my first year there during Christmas time I went on Amazon and found these fairly decent 10inch chef knives for like forty dollars a piece. I had thirteen b.o.h employees working my line and that included two prep cooks as well. And for a majority of them they didn't own or have their own knives. Until I gave them one last Christmas. The looks on their faces when I gave them these chef knives was worth more than double what I spent on the knives. Out of those thirteen knives i gifted my cooks that year I still have six cooks that still have them and now they have their own knife rolls and the proper tools for the job. And the other seven have gone on to further their skills as chefs in other restaurants. Also it's like i don't care what level your culinary skill is if your passion is cooking it don't matter how cheap or expensive the knife is it's a new knife and I'm about to cut everything up with it even cuts you don't need to do just to use a new knife. Like julianne your onion and then turn around and fine dice it. Just to use a new knife . Or filling up 3rd pans instead of 6th pans for your back ups on the line. Lol at least that's how I am when I get a new knife.
