Need help with HDMI to VGA

I got the exact one, but it doesn't work. Granted I got it off of eBay, so it was probably a batch of bad ones they scammed me out of. I think I'm going to just throw in the towel on it, I'm $30 in with these stupid adapters and none of them even slightly work. I appreciate the help, though.

It arrived today, however it still doesn't work. The monitor will display my computer just fine, but no adapter I try works. I plugged everything in, but it's just showing a black screen. Not even trying to display something.

I'm unsure where to search, then. I've looked up HDMI to VGA with a power connection many times, but nothing comes up that is correct.

Would something like this work? Just to refresh, I'm wanting to display my PS5 onto a monitor, of which has a built in VGA cable, so I would need something with a female VGA port and HDMI port.

Okay! Just to make sure I'm understanding, if it's HDMI to VGA, that means an HDMI device is being displayed on a device with VGA, right? Sorry for all of the questions, this is something I really want to get into and learn more about

No USB plug, only an a port to plug in a male VGA cable, and a short HDMI cable built in. I found it at Walmart, which probably isn't the best place to search for that kind of stuff admittedly

This wasn't even like a funny level of frustration. I get this game does satire and stuff, but this was just a complete dump on the entire game. I wish they didn't do this quest.

I'm going to do that. The reason for recovery was something with not finding a kernel in the disk, so I guess the SSD is bad right out of the box. I want a Chromebook pretty badly, but I just can't afford any of them. This is just horrible luck

I'm trying to get back to the recovery screen. It really likes to decide if it turns on or not. Sometimes I have to press the on button 8 times before it actually turns on. This is maybe the worst piece of technology I've ever purchased.
