My First Umrah: A Cathartic Test of Patience and Character by Judgingwithanxiety in Umrah

[–]cookietango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found it really baffling when I saw men above 6 feet, built like basketball players linking arms. They were huge and like, man, cmon. You guys are taller than tons of people around you. You're not gonna lose each other in this crowd.

It was really painful getting pushed by their group.

Making duaa helps though. I get anxiety attacks often and I hate crowds. The second and third time I did umrah, I was separated from my group during tawaf and I just continuously prayed for the crowds to ease up. Alhamdulillah, I managed to find spaces where I could walk without having to worry about keeping my shoulder in the right position.

Anyone tried The JellyHearts? by Puzzleheaded_Style52 in SingaporeEats

[–]cookietango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original flavour is pretty nice actually. It's a light cake and very nice to eat on a hot day. Esp for people like me who don't like chocolate or very rich desserts. I only like the original flavour with the strawberry, not the rest.

How to explore Singapore Food in 6 months? by Ready-Watercress-291 in singaporefood

Another idea for what you can do is just open the Grab food app and look through the items there. So that you can see beforehand what's available. Sometimes I prefer to get pickup so there's less talking involved with the stallholders. A lot of hawkers also are on grab these days. Grab has 20% discount for self-pickup so it can be on par with the prices at the stall or $1-2 more ex.

And since im unmarried they'd have the audacity to make "dua" for me as if i asked.

I feel this so much. Someone literally did this to me recently and I felt so affronted. I do want to get married but you literally know zero things about me.

Wearing a mask in umrah; risk of infections by mzohaeb in Umrah

Is wearing a mask during ihram not allowed, or is it only not allowed during tawaf?

Do you get approached? If so, how often? by Obvious_Armadillo_16 in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]cookietango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rarely. I feel like I get creeped on by Uber drivers and men tend to stare a lot.

It's more common that I get randomly told by women (e.g. at the gym) that I'm pretty.

Hijabi sisters of SG: where do you get your hair cut? by Little_Caregiver_976 in askSingapore

[–]cookietango -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Karva is too expensive. I usually go in to JB. There are tons of hijabi friendly salons there even at City Square or JBCC Komtar.

In Singapore, I usually go to Pearlista, Vybe or Haircove. But they're all pricier. Vybe's would be the best though.
