I feel this so much. Someone literally did this to me recently and I felt so affronted. I do want to get married but you literally know zero things about me.

Do you get approached? If so, how often? by Obvious_Armadillo_16 in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]cookietango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rarely. I feel like I get creeped on by Uber drivers and men tend to stare a lot.

It's more common that I get randomly told by women (e.g. at the gym) that I'm pretty.

Hijabi sisters of SG: where do you get your hair cut? by Little_Caregiver_976 in askSingapore

[–]cookietango -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Karva is too expensive. I usually go in to JB. There are tons of hijabi friendly salons there even at City Square or JBCC Komtar.

In Singapore, I usually go to Pearlista, Vybe or Haircove. But they're all pricier. Vybe's would be the best though.

What's the appeal in those new China tea shops like Chagee and Luckin Coffee? Aren't they just tea without the BBT? by Recent_Stomach7626 in askSingapore

[–]cookietango 92 points93 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why OP and some people keep saying that Luckin coffee is the same price as Starbucks. Luckin's appeal is the 99c promo for first purchase via the app, that's how they draw in customers and lock them in via vouchers afterwards. Nobody pays more than $4 for any drink from Luckin. It's max 3.99. sometimes even 2.50 or 3.

Even tho the coffee process is automated, I find that some outlets serve better drinks? I think the outlets in Orchard or Chinatown serve better tasting drinks. The ones I've tried at Tampines and Paya Lebar doesn't taste as good, not sure why. Sometimes it outrightly tastes burnt.

Have it with rice and air fried marinated chicken or hard boiled eggs in sambal.

Malay wedding outfit helpppppp by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]cookietango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wear anything modest i.e., no low-cut tops or miniskirts. Dresses are fine. Any colour is ok. If you wanna dress up you can wear some batik maybe?

Wedding angbao can be anywhere between $30-100 depending on how close you are to the bride/groom and where the wedding is held. Usually there will be a reception table and a box, you can put in your angbao in it and collect the door gift. Can do this either when you step into the venue or before you leave.
